Cruz Expanding Lead In Wisconsin

A new poll conducted by the Washington Free Beacon shows Ted Cruz expanding his lead in Wisconsin.

500 likely primary voters were queried on March 19 and 20; 36.2% favored Cruz while 31.4% of voters chose Trump. Jon Kasich garnered 20.8% of the vote.

The poll found that if Kasich dropped out, Cruz's support would soar to 47.8%; Trump would only increase to 36.2%

Cruz's 4.8 point lead was an increase from the one-point advantage he held in an Emerson poll released on Wednesday. Every poll taken that had ben quoted in the past by Real Clear politics showed Trump leading Cruz.

Trump proved to be hugely disliked by Wisconsinites; his net favorable rating clocked in at only +9.8, compared to +35.4 for Cruz and +41.2 for Kasich.

Almost 60% of respondents felt Trump "does not have the right temperament to be president." Over 60% agreed he "holds numerous liberal positions."

Two major anti-Trump groups will spend heavily to defeat Trump in Wisconsin, according to NBC News: Our Principles PAC and Club for Growth. Club for Growth announced it would spend $1 million for ads.

And yet I have had FOX TV news on for an hour and not one word so far on Cruz and his fooling around. Do TBTB think by putting this out on a Friday, it will all be over by Monday? Fat chance.

Come up with a real source and not just a rumor, and you will have a story. Anything short of that is a lame story. Not too complicated.

I have wondered about the possibility that all along, Trump has wanted the attention and success of being the nominee...but that maybe he doesn’t really want to be President.

His life is great as it is...Does he actually desire the responsibility/chaos/huge life changes that come with the package?

I've wondered this at times as well. Moving to the White House would be a downgrade, wouldn't it? Where will he put the airstrip?

Trump need to win this to push Cruz out of the race mathematically, otherwise theres another chance april 15th. The longer this races continue, its not good for the party

Electing another ivy league lawyer and expecting a different results from somebody who did not finish his first term is INSANE.

John Adams, John Quincy Adams, Rutherford B. Hayes and William Howard Taft were Ivy League lawyers, and they were pretty good presidents.

Sounds like Wisconsin is going to be like Utah.

I'm sure you were outraged about the fraud reports out of Nevada, right?

There are TWO, not just one, primary race in Wisconsin, so the crossover vote is a little skewed. Wisconsin has, for years, maintained an “open” primary, in which anyone may vote for a member of EITHER political party. Wisconsin does not maintain a registry of “Republican” or “Democrat”, as do many other states.

But this is the complication: The crossover vote, from Democrats, is constrained by the very real struggle between Bernie Sanders, an avowed and openly Socialist, that would normally be the overwhelming favorite of the “Progressives” that make up the vast majority of the Wisconsin Democrat party, and Herself, potentially the “first” gender-specific candidate to run in a major political party, and by whom these same Progressives are faced with supporting out of almost religious loyalty to “equality”. What to do, what to do. There is no opportunity for them to try to skew the results in the Republican primary, as they have done so very many times before, so they cease to be much of a factor this time.

But the Republicans are equally constrained from crossover, as they must decide whether to go for the provisionally-accepted Ted Cruz as the “establishment” candidate (which he assuredly is NOT), or for The Donald, vehemently opposed by, of all people, the Koch Brothers. John Kasich would seem to be the “compromise” candidate here, as Marco Rubio is no longer a factor, and Scott Walker was long gone before even the first caucus in Iowa.

Curiouser and curiouser.

Wisconsin is a winner-take-all state.

An image of a supposedly deleted tweet, by an unnamed person with the handle "davorah" on twitter, claims that she spoke with an unnamed person at GQ.

That's what I thought. That's the source.

Do you understand why that's a pretty flimsy source?

No, it's not. Arizona and Florida were winner-take-all.

Wisconsin is winner-take-most. It gives out a certain amount of delegates to the statewide winner, and then like three delegates per congressional district. Unlike a true winner-take-all, it's possible that two or even all three remaining GOP candidates could walk away with some Wisconsin delegates.

From the ‘’Washington Examiner’’ two days ago:

‘’Trump Takes Longest Break from Campaign Trail’’: ‘’Donald Trump’s schedule suggests he is about to go nearly ten days without a campaign event of any kind.’’

Why is Donald Trump suspending his campaign?

“Why is Donald Trump suspending his campaign?”

Maybe he’s trying to get out of the way of a Cruz bimbo eruption coming down the pike. :-)

Incorrect - In WI, a portion of the delegates go to the statewide highest voter getter, then the highest vote getter in each congressional district is awarded 3 delegates.
