Donald Trump has not won a majority of the vote in any state he's won. Ted Cruz has done it twice, in Wyoming and Utah.
Trump's enormous unpopularity with the majority of voters is a telling indicator that he simply cannot win a general election. With his constant attacks on women, whether they be Megyn Kelly, Carly Fiorina, or Heidi Cruz, Trump's paltry appeal among women cripples him even further.
As expert mathematician Nate Silver pointed out on Friday, if women sour on Trump, the results of his efforts in the general election would look like this:
For all of Trump's talk of winning; he only has won consistently when he was facing a plethora of candidates. In one on one matchups with Ted Cruz or Hillary Clinton, polls show he loses.
Silver also offered a projection of how one-sided a prospective Hillary Clinton-Trump matchup would be, asserting Clinton would win 374 electoral votes and Trump would win 164.

By getting more votes.
Here’s the real threat...Hillary will not be the nominee and they put in Biden. Hillary’s unfavorable are almost as bad as Trump’s. If you put in Biden Trump is toast.
The polls show Cruz can beat Hillary. I think he beats Hillary on the issues. The general public don’t trust Hillary.
No, it’s the morally relativistic and short-sighted so-called conservative base that is letting everybody own. If you think the number of stay-at-homes was bad with with Romney, just wait until you see the effect Trump’s personal slander and sleaze campaign will have on republican turnout. I think the RNCs internal polling for the general election is the primary driver behind their opposition to Trump with amnesty being a close second. Our only hope is that the number of democrats voting for Hillary I equally undercut by disdain for their nominee.
...and here’s another STUNNING ARTICLE:
Reagan was even worse than Trump - thank God we stopped him:
Is defeat probable for GOP if Reagan wins nomination?

To me it’s looking less and less like Trump will win this. He’s acting like he’s desperate. Threatening riots if he doesn’t get the nomination without a majority. He obviously doesn’t think he’ll get a Majority. And now these attacks on Cruz’s wife and spreading rumors about supposed affairs. He’s got nothing to say of substance. It’s all personal attacks for him.
You seem to think Cruz can beat Hillary. How?
We don’t know if he can
But we know Trump will lose
Hillarys unfavorable are almost as bad as Trumps
Think how hard he’s had to work to earn that.
He’s got higher unfavorables than someone who the public already has decided is a criminal and corrupt....ROFL!
“But we know Trump will lose”
Now there is a positive negative man.
Prognosticator par excellence.
As Rush said, Trump supporters are true believers, nothing will sway their faith. One thing I will say is, 2008 Obama supporters don’t hold a candle to the Trump supporters.
The oligarchy must be destroyed.
No, but scientific polls of likely, general election voters do. And, in virtually all of those polls, Trump loses to Hillary.
If this nation votes for Hellary perhaps we can magically begin to grow banana trees and Jim Rob can change the FR name to Banana Republic.
I'm sure if he decided to let loose some cash, he could find someone. Who would be best?
With all due respect, do you think the Democrats are going to care how far back it was?
A poll showing Trump getting schlonged the other day showed both Cruz and Trump losing to Killary.
The winner was Kasich!! Kasich +6 for the win!!
In the same poll, Trump was considered better for a majority of issues over Cruz. But Cruz looses less to Killary.
I can hardly take these polls seriously anymore, one way or the other.
Who in their right mind can possible think Cruz, he who would increase illegal immigration, do ugly trade deals and pushed John Roberts is a conservative?
So people are more upset with Trumps “tone” than the illegal and Muslim invasion that’s occurring? Amazing.
It is fitting that the Enquirer endorsed Trump. He is nothing but a tabloid candidate. After he loses the election, he and Jerry Springer can switch roles.
All of which you just said is actually inaccurate. This stuff has been discussed to death. But you have your facts and I have mine.
