CHICAGO More people are leaving the Chicago area than any other major city in the United States.
According to census data released Thursday, the Chicago area lost more than 6,000 residents in 2015. That now puts the regions population at 9.5 million.
Chicagos metropolitan statistical area, defined by the U.S. Census Bureau, includes the city and suburbs and extends into Wisconsin and Indiana.
The Chicago regions decline extended to the state. While the states population dropped by 7,391 people in 2014, the number more than tripled in 2015, to 22,194.

Because of the sheer number of homicides?
A little over double the number of people shot that year.
All of those "would be 0bama's sons" shooting people faster than they can procreate.
All the time. But I don’t live in IL anymore.
The population decline is the result of a lead problem similar to Flint Michigan’s. The only difference is Flint’s lead is in the water, Chicago’s lead is in the air.
“Lost” them?
More like buried them.
Of course a good number of them didn’t move away, they got shot while in Chicago!
"MISS ME YET?"
I want to vote for Donald J. Trump to be the next mayor.
Make Chicago Great Again!
In a horizontal posture...
Did they leave or were they murdered?
