I thought these were determined to be flawed and invalid tests.

They were to those who follow the science.

"They were to those who follow the science."

Odd. It looked to me as if there were those who had a vested interest in not following the science and had an agenda. Kind of like the global warming "scientists".

Odd. It looked to me as if there were those who had a vested interest in not following the science and had an agenda. Kind of like the global warming "scientists".

Those who followed the science saw that the 1988 C-14 tests were completely falsified. Those who wanted to only believe the C-14 tests and the not the later science, chose to ignore those results and the evidence right in front of their faces done by men working in their fields of expertise and published in peer-reviewed journals, and elected instead to follow their critics, non-scientists, publishing in popular non-scientific journals who claimed the actual scientists were pseudoscientists. Strange topsy-turvy world where agenda science holds sway over real science in so many fields.

The closest thing the anti-Shroud skeptics now have to a real scientist is a geologist, guy named Steven Schafersman, and a failed stage magician, Joe Nickel, who holds a degree in English Literature, both of whom repeatedly challenge chemists, physicists, medical doctors, pathologists, anthropologists, expert photographers, Microscopists, experts on blood, etc. men working in their fields on actual samples for their expertise, and call THEM pseudoscientists because Schafersman and Nickel don't like their factual findings and the results of their tests.

Both of these characters love to cite old, superseded claims that have been long since falsified by later, peer-reviewed work. One of their favorites is Dr. Walter C. McCrone, a microscopist who claimed that the Shroud was a painting because he asserted he could see pigments through his polarizing optical microscope, a claim that could never be replicated by any other scientist and was falsified by far more scientific tests such as X-ray microspectrometry which was so accurate that it could identify the make-up (and BRAND) of the vinyl baggies in which the sample threads were transported to the testing lab. . . but which found none of the elements McCrone claimed he saw in his purely subjective observations through his microscope at low magnifications. Even McCrone's own employees could not find what he claimed he saw when using far more powerful Electron microscopy. Yet McCrone still claimed until he died that the Shroud was an artifact, created by a painter using Red Ochre and Vermilion paints. . . and Nickel and Schafersman repeatedly cite McCrone as the be-all-and-end-all of scientific proof.
