Though President Obama was a foreign-policy neophyte when he first arrived in Washington in 2006, he quickly hired scholars who were well known and respected on both sides of the aisle. Even Ted Cruz, loathed as he is by the D.C. establishment, has largely chosen his own geopolitical advisers from the same pool.

Man, Ted does more and more to endear himself to the establishment...the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Yes an America 1st team for the 1st time since the 1980s rather then the usual collections of Bush Family cronies and K Street lobbyist from the “Caucus for Perpetual War”.

You post a lot of anti Trump stuff and yet you haven’t responded to Shiva Fan’s challenge below! ???

Put Your Donation Where Your Mouth Is: Who do you think will win the Republican Nomination?

opinion | 23 March 2016 | ShivaFan
Posted on 3/23/2016, 4:34:05 PM by ShivaFan

This is simple. If some are so sure who has the momentum and will get the Republican convention, put your money (donation to FR) where your mouth is.

Personally, I would set this bet at $100 as fair game, but I think some are also suffering under the Obama “recovery” so I think a $40 bet in more fair.

Here would be the bet. Pick who you think will get the Republican nomination below by responding BET (name) in upper case. If your choice does NOT get the nomination then you donate $40 dollars to FreeRepublic.com support donation.

What do you say? This isn’t really gambling, just sort of a fun way to donate to Free Republic if you are wrong.

WHO WILL WIN THE REPUBLICAN NOMINATION? CHOOSE ONE NAME, NO SECOND CHANCES LATER. IF YOU ARE WRONG, YOU DONATE $40 DOLLARS TO FREE REPUBLIC:
Choices
BET TRUMP
BET CRUZ
BET KASICH
BET OTHER

And they wonder why people call them the "Uni-Party".

he doesn’t grasp how Washington’s network of decision-makers collaborate on important global decisions.

i.e. how to speed up shipping jobs overseas, bringing in more H1Bs and Muslim "refugees".

I’m tired of so-called conservatives/conservative orgs like NR who use political/ruling elite arguments.

The ruling/political elite and academic elite are absolutely part of the problem.

As Lord Acton said, “Power corrupts”. Career politicians are per se corrupt which is why we need term limits.

Once again, NR is on the wrong side of the argument.

If that was his intent, the move failed miserably.

According to the irrelevant NR, there was misery involved in the failing.

“Nearly all say that Trump’s move to surround himself with neophytes and fringe players suggests he doesn’t grasp how Washington’s network of decision-makers collaborate on important global decisions.”

Oh, I think that Trump understands very well “how Washington’s network of decision-makers collaborate on important global decisions”.

And so do the rest of us !

“Most had never heard of any of the advisers, and what they have heard hasn’t exactly inspired confidence. Nearly all say that Trump’s move to surround himself with neophytes and fringe players suggests he doesn’t grasp how Washington’s network of decision-makers collaborate on important global decisions”

It’s called changing the paradigm, which is obviously something these people are not accustomed to.

So Trump should hire the same advisors as Bush and Obama that brought us this peaceful world.

Yeh like the ones we are using now are so great. LOL!

“Michael Rubin, a Middle East expert”

This is the expert who is quoted for most of the comments in the article. He attacks Trumps choices.

Does anybody know who he is and why he is considered an expert?

.......................................................
EXACTLY the REASON people want Trump. We have had enough of the “experts” leading our country to rack and ruin. We are in the worst shape we have ever been in and so called experts continue to lead us to G;obalism and the destruction of America.
Jeff Sessions is all the expertise we need. He adises Trump. “Nuff said.”
