I am a Cruz supporter. But I think Trump is right. If the delegate leader DOES NOT get the nomination. Get used to President Clinton all over again.
The perfect play is this:
Trump arrives with the most by a fair margin, but not the required majority.
Cruz arrives with a substantial minority, well short of Trump, but enough to cause trouble.
Cruz asks Trump, “What’s it worth to you to have a coronation today? I have a few ideas you may wish to consider.”
Cruz walks away with some excellent Conservative Gimmes. Trump get’s Cruz’s backing on the floor, and we all smile at one another.
Win / Win.
Who said “The Art of the Deal” could only be played by Trump?
Not this time. If they deny the delegate leader the nomination, the party will be destroyed in the process. And the hildabeast will be President.
I care more about America than I dislike the gop, so I would prefer that this not occur. But getting rid of the feckless and corrupt gop would be a great second prize should there be shenanigans.
The GOPe has absolutely no intention of letting Trump or Cruz get the nomination. The only chance for either one of them is to have 1237 on the first ballot.
If that fails to happen the Sea Island Republicans will give the nomination to one of their own. The rules are on their side, they wrote them, and they will enforce them despite the risk that doing so will destroy the Republican party. They don’t believe that it can happen. It will.
