Very good articles. I was unaware of Wolin. And anyone that knows history and references Alexis de Tocqueville.. he put the challenge of America clearly so long ago.
I do understand, I hope, where we are in history, how we are at a critical juncture.
What is frustrating to us both is that this, the foundation of America, is not being taught, not being passed on. We don’t even hear it debated in this election.
I think Milton framed it correctly: It’s about freedom. Liberty vs. government tyranny, fascism, totalitarianism.
