Didn’t trump already provide the names of individuals he’d name to the court? From what I read at the time, they were solid, strict constitutionalist picks.

I am voting for Trump. Because he has the balls to try and “stack the court”.
There is nothing in the constitution that says their are 9 justices on the SCOTUS. There were times we had less, there were times we had more. Congress decides if we can have more or less.
The U.S. Constitution established the Supreme Court but left it to Congress to decide how many justices should make up the court. The Judiciary Act of 1789 set the number at six: a chief justice and five associate justices. In 1807, Congress increased the number of justices to seven; in 1837, the number was bumped up to nine; and in 1863, it rose to 10. In 1866, Congress passed the Judicial Circuits Act, which shrank the number of justices back down to seven and prevented President Andrew Johnson from appointing anyone new to the court. Three years later, in 1869, Congress raised the number of justices to nine.
So if we run the mill in Congress, with Trump as President, he could nominate more after consulting with key Congressional office holders, and bump the number from 9 to 11.
The Dems and the media will go nuts of course. And some will say this sets the venue where later the Dems if in power will raise it to 13. Maybe - but I am telling you they are already planning that if they run both the executive and congress again after they flood America with the turd world.
But Trump’s economy will be such a relief to Americans that they will have Trump in for two terms and R’s running things for an entire decade, so let’s strike first.
Also I want to see a 4% fee on all dollars sent to Mexico via those “send money to Mexico” operations. That is how Mexico will pay for the wall.

Well, that’s the attitude that will probably lead me to not vote for Trump in the general election. If it means destroying the rest of the GOP — which means turning all of Congress over to the Democrats — I suppose it’s better that he loses, and we save the Senate and House. Much easier to fix a lost Presidential election than to lose all of Congress.
