There was a post a few years back that compared the federal budget to a family's income. I am trying to come up with a current comparison for my grandchildren who are 'feeling the Bern.' Is this close to accurate?
US Tax Revenue............$3,200,000,000,000
Federal budget............$3,700,000,000,000
New debt.....................500,000,000,000
National debt............$17,000,000,000,000
want free college?.......$45,000,000,000,000
for illegal aliens,too...$??,000,000,000,000
Now remove 8 zero's to compare it to a family's budget:
Annual family income..................$32,000
money the family spent................$37,000
New debt on credit cards................$5,000
outstanding balance on credit cards...$170,00
junior wants free college..............$45,000
free college for his friend, too.......$??,000
neighbors medical bills................$??,000
let’s give black lives matter a check for eleventy gabillion. Tell them it will be good Tuesday
Joe Legal vs. Jose Illegal
You have 2 families...”Joe Legal” and “Jose Illegal”. Both families have 2 parents, 2 children and live in California. “Joe Legal” works in construction, and has his Social Security Number - and makes $25.00 per hour with payroll taxes deducted....”Jose Illegal” also works in construction, has ‘NO’ Social Security Number, and gets paid $15.00 cash “under the table”.
Joe Legal...$25.00 per hour x 40 hours $1000.00 per week, $52,000 per year.
Now take 30% away for state federal tax, Joe Legal now has $31,231.00
Jose Illegal...$15.00 per hour x 40 hours $600.00 per week, $31,200.00 per year. Jose Illegal pays no taxes... Jose Illegal now has $31,200.00
Joe Legal pays Medical and Dental Insurance with limited coverage $1000.00 per month, $12,000.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $19,231.00
Jose Illegal has full Medical and Dental coverage through the state and local clinics at a cost of $0.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00
Joe Legal makes too much money is not eligible for Food Stamps or welfare. Joe Legal pays for food $1,000.00 per month, $12,000.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $7,231.00
Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for Food Stamps and Welfare. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.
Joe Legal pays rent of $1,000.00 per month. $12,000.00 per year. Joe Legal is now in the hole minus (-) $4,769.00
Jose Illegal receives a $500 per month Federal rent subsidy. Jose Illegal pays rent. $500.00 per month. $6,000.00 per year Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00
Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part time job after work.
Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family.
Joe Legal’s and Jose Illegal’s children both attend the same school. Joe Legal pays for his children’s lunches while Jose Illegal ‘s get a government sponsored lunch. Jose Illegals children have an after school ESL program. Joe Legal’s children go home.
Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same Police and Fire Services, but Joe paid for them and Jose did not pay.
Don’t vote/support any politician that supports illegal aliens
GO TRUMP GO
It’s a good comparison, but no credit card company would give someone making $32,000 a year a credit limit so high that they would have $170,000 of credit card debt.
Maybe a better analogy would be $40,000 of credit card debt and $130,000 of stolen money.
free college for his friend, too.......$??,000
neighbors medical bills................$??,000"
Note that the states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for either INTRAstate schooling or intrastate healthcare purposes.
Regarding intrastate education, Thomas Jefferson had indicated that the states would need to amend the Constitution to give the feds the specific power to tax and spend for such a purpose.
The great mass of the articles on which impost is paid is foreign luxuries, purchased by those only who are rich enough to afford themselves the use of them. Their patriotism would certainly prefer its continuance and application to the great purposes of the public education, roads, rivers, canals, and such other objects of public improvement as it may be thought proper to add to the constitutional enumeration of federal powers [emphasis added]. Thomas Jefferson: 6th Annual Message, 1806.
And regardless what lawless Obamas state sovereignty-ignoring activist justices want everybody to believe about the constitutionality of Obamacare, neither have the states delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for intrastate healthcare purposes. This is evidenced by the following excerpts from Supreme Court case opinions.
With respect to the constitutionality of the Obamacare insurance mandate for example, note the fourth entry in the list below from Paul v. Virginia. In that case, state sovereignty-respecting justices had clarified that regulating insurance is not within the scope of Congresss Commerce Clause powers (1.8.3), regardless if the parties negotiating the insurance policy are domiciled in different states.
State inspection laws, health laws, and laws for regulating the internal commerce of a State, and those which respect turnpike roads, ferries, &c. are not within the power granted to Congress. [emphases added] - Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States. - Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
Inspection laws, quarantine laws, health laws of every description [emphasis added], as well as laws for regulating the internal commerce of a state and those which respect turnpike roads, ferries, &c., are component parts of this mass. -Justice Barbour, New York v. Miln., 1837.
4. The issuing of a policy of insurance is not a transaction of commerce within the meaning of the latter of the two clauses, even though the parties be domiciled in different States, but is a simple contract [emphasis added] of indemnity against loss. - Paul v. Virginia, 1869. (The corrupt feds have no Commerce Clause (1.8.3) power to regulate insurance.)
Direct control of medical practice in the states is obviously [emphases added] beyond the power of Congress. - Linder v. United States, 1925.
Remember in November !
When patriots elect Trump, Cruz, or whatever conservative they elect, they also need to elect a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress that will not only work within its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers to support the president, but also protect the states from unconstitutional federal government overreach as evidenced by unconstitutional federal funding for intrastate schooling, likewise for Obamacare and possibly Trumpcare.
Also, consider that such a Congress would probably be willing to fire state sovereignty-ignoring activist justices.
but you don’t have to pay back stolen money
Everybody pays for stolen money.
