By the way, the fact that this is being reported by CBS raises my hackles.
They are constantly on the lookout for how to sink us further into the neo-Marxist mire. Abuses of the field of psychology are the way to control a populace, from blatant psychological attacks all the way to authority figures claiming medical knowledge to humiliate and ultimately lock away political opponents.
I posted on the thread about my youngest niece. She displayed symptoms of ADD/ADHD from a young age, a very short attention span, very easily distracted, difficulty concentrating that sort of thing. It was easy to see and it definitely interfered with her ability to read and study. My sister was a schoolteacher who knows that ADD/ADHD is over-diagnosed so she waited several years to have her daughter evaluated. Jr High school age I think it was. The doctor did prescribe a med and it made a dramatic difference in the girl’s ability to focus and concentrate. IIRC she only took the med for a year or two and when she stopped the ADD/ADHD symptoms didn’t return. So in her case it looks like it was warranted and successful.

That would be a “no”, you have not raised any of these children. You have also confirmed what I said about your comparison between ADD/ADHD/blah blah blah with Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. You can’t fix the latter.
All children exhibit short attention spans and whatnot to some degree or other.
They can exhibit them past puberty if not trained very young (before 8 or 9) to overcome them.
Have you ever read anything posted by teens and twenty-somethings on Tumblr? You will notice a correlation between mind-altering drugs, sexual deviancy, and delusional self-image there among them, in numbers that have not been observed in the past.
You can choose to believe it’s due to some detrimental substance they encounter in their environments, whether introduced by man accidentally or on purpose.

If there’s some sort of handout for the parents? I wonder if it’s enough to pay for the doctor and counselors she sees, all while paying for in hone respid care so my wife and can have one peaceful weekend at least once a year.

Could be Bell Curve stuff, whereby low IQ is seen as “mental disorder,” in order to gain government benefits.
I recall reading where certain school districts with high percent of low IQ racial makeup, get a lot of benefits, for mentally retarded children.
Places like Wash. DC for an example. Names be like Trayvon, etc.
