Not an “animal rights” fanatic; but it would be OK with me
for animals to be left alone in the wild, the environment
where they belong. Have visited zoos all my life; but
seeing big cats caged & becoming mentally unbalanced by
the confinement is sad to me.
Stuffed game is sufficient and between videos and books, there's plenty to see.
Imagine not being allowed out of your house.
In the end, it's all about money and breeding...
Well, you’re in luck.
Now that the AR activists have won with Orcas, big cats *ARE* next.
Carole Baskins and so-called “Big Cat Rescue” in Tampa are doing everything in their power to do to wild cat captivity, what Blackfish did to Sea World, including total internet and media saturation.
The only difference is that BCR takes it even further still, with their so-called “Twenty Year Extinction Plan”.
Better dead than bred and all of that.

Yep, Never liked zoos and animal shows for that reason. The animals all seem depressed and ragged.
The only zoo I enjoyed was the Monkey Jungle in Florida. The Monkeys get a huge natural habitat and the humans watch them from small cages

You do realize, certain animals will never be left alone in the wild as long as there is greed. Rhinos, Elephants and other very rare species will disappear without human help. As long as the animals are well cared for, I support keeping a safeguarded population, rather than having to see them in photos or in video.
You just described "marriage" for millions of men.
Not me, though (my wife knows when I post...lol).

I agree.
The back and forth pacing, hour after hour, day after day,is heartbreaking.
The wales were kept in very small quarters too.
