Ive reached a breaking point with those who continue to defend Donald Trumps endless brutishness.
If you went back in time a year, and asked Trump supporters if they would ever vote for a man who made fun of POWs, mocked the physically handicapped, compared another candidate to a child molester, and shifted positions as frequently as a fat guy in a church pew, they would have likely said No.
How did we get here? How did we get to a place where Trumps rhetoric and behavior is not only accepted, but emulated?
Donald Trump is a master manipulator. He came on the scene as a single issue candidate, with no other discernible positions. This was a necessity, because it allowed voters to fill in the rest with their own magic markers; the needs and ideas of millions of voters built Donald Trump from scratch. Thats why attributing any coherent policy position to the man is like trying to nail jello to a wall. His deliberately ambiguous and transitory rhetoric acts as a sort of scaffolding upon which anything can be built. This is a dangerous thing when you have an incredibly angry electorate.
When you pour yourself into an empty vessel, that vessel becomes personally linked to you. It harbors your needs, wants, and ideals in a way that nothing else can. Ultimately, what people see in Trump is their own reflection. When you see yourself in such a candidate, youre much more likely to justify, defend, and even emulate their behaviorno matter how deplorable.
Given this, it comes as no surprise that were beginning to see violence at Trump rallies. Donald himself has made numerous comments passively or directly condoning violence against those who defy him.

Ayn Rand objectivity.
I fully suspect Trump will continue his winning was and get the nomination. I don’t like it but it’s all in his hands now.
Hey Tolerance Sucks Rocks: sounds like you want Trump and his supporters to be more tolerant. Given your Freeper name, your cognitive dissonance must be 9.0 on the Richter scale.
“I wish I could tell you what I think of you, but Id get banned...”
Oh so you mean you are a mafia-like thug follower.
You make the point of this article pretty well.
I love Trumpies. All billy baddass, but looking for a man to save them and rule over them.
No thanks. We ain’t following ya’ll off that cliff.
And don't forget Dear Leader Obama invited Black Lives Matter to the White House just a few weeks ago.
Fine. Go down with the Tedtanic.
Your heart will go on.
If you liked 2008 & 2012 without the Ron Paul voters, you are going love 2016 without the Trump voters.
Me either, but what would be wrong with that?
This ain’t about some BS narrative. This is about you love struck cultist defending the Golden Bullypuff when he starts tearing down the Constitution.
Five years ago last Friday to be exact. 9.1 in the Richter. Hi.
You mad, bro?
Hey! That's "The Great Pumpkin" to you, cRuzBio cultist!
For sure!!
Ok, “Great Pumpkin” is funny.
In Gruppendenken , "in which people strive for consensus within a group. In many cases, people will set aside their own personal beliefs or adopt the opinion of the rest of the group. People who are opposed to the decisions or overriding opinion of the group as a whole frequently remain quiet, preferring to keep the peace rather than disrupt the uniformity of the crowd. In many cases, people end up engaging in groupthink when they fear that their objections might disrupt the harmony of the group or suspect that their ideas might cause other negative group repercussions. --Illusions of invulnerability lead members of the group to be overly optimistic and engage in risk-taking. --Unquestioned beliefs lead members to ignore possible moral problems and ignore consequences of individual and group actions. --Rationalizing prevents members from reconsidering their beliefs and causes them to ignore warning signs. --Stereotyping leads members of the in-group to ignore or even demonize out-group members who may oppose or challenge the groups ideas. --Self-censorship causes people who might have doubts to hide their fears or misgivings. -/"Mindguards" act as self-appointed censors to hide problematic information from the group. --Illusions of unanimity lead members to believe that everyone is in agreement and feels the same way. --Direct pressure to conform is often placed on members who pose questions, and those who question the group are often seen as disloyal or traitorous." I scurrilously attacked the Bushes here on FR year in and year out. Examine the record. And what I find very eery is the parallels when it comes to objective academic honesty between “Bushbotism” and “Trumpmania”.
