I think it was very, very poor judgment on Cruz’ part IF he did indeed actually hear and understand what the man said and did not offer some admonition or disclaimer in his subsequent talk about it. I’d put this in the same barrel as Cruz’ inexplicable embracing of Glenn Beck as a supporter - even to the point of parroting through a mock Oath of Office with that insane twit.
Regardless, I VOTED FOR TRUMP and will vote for him in the general election if he is the nominee, but we have to realize that the day before critical elections are times of great import indeed that need to be taken with a healthy dose of salt considering the source.
In conclusion, I agree. This isn’t something that should be taken as to imply Cruz anything of the sort with this pastor. If anything, Ted did not make “a good choice.”

Not only will Cruz lose ( not just on this issue) but imagine the blows the democrats will inflict on Christians and the Bible if they win again and manage to use this stuff in a national campaign - another 4 years of their leadership and the Bible may become officially banned as hate speech
If Trump can be criticized over who he associates with, then so can Cruz.

Dissing this guy for quoting the Bible is a slippery slope taking us to the hate crime police state actions going on in Canada, the UK and Europe.
A poor constable in Edmonton, Canada was killed last year when he was sent out to arrest a ‘hate criminal’ at his home and knocked on the door.
The poor man classified at a ‘hate criminal’ lost his wife and business in recent years and used lethal force shooting through the door when it was knocked on. The shooter also killed himself.

I don’t think Cruz shares Swanson’s views (after all he has solicited money from big time gay marriage proponents). However, he seems to have very poor judgement regarding the people he associates with: Glenn Beck, Chad Sweet, Jeff Roe, Michael Chertoff, etc. A voter might question that judgement based on the Reagan era principle that “people are policy”.
