Who Here Has Changed from Trump to Another Candidate?
Self | 03-14-16 | The Citizen Soldier

Posted on 03/13/2016 1:27:43 PM PDT by The Citizen Soldier

I have been on Free Republic for almost 15 years and almost never post anything. Love to lurk and post occasional response. In mid-February I changed my preference for President from Cruz to Trump. I've seen many others who have made a similar change in the past month.

I'm curious to learn those who have changed from Trump to another candidate, and why. I hope I have posted this correctly. If not, I apologize beforehand.

Most Trump fans on FreeRepublic WERE 100% on board with ronpaul 2 years ago

Not hardly

Lots of us were ripping ronpaul back then

I'm just wondering how many more times Cruz can urinate on his own "conservatism" before his followers finally wake up to the realization that Ted is just more of the same ol' same ol'.

Uh, no Spunky. It’s not the same thing. The Trump rally in Chicago was attacked by a paid mob set out to destroy free speech and possibly kill Trump. And we are now learning the money trail supporting that attack leads back to Clinton not Sanders. (See Conservative Treehouse blog.) That’s apples and oranges when compared to the suggestion of mano a mano fisticuffs in controlling a disruptive attendee.

John, try to understand. “Democrat”, “Republican,” even “liberal” and “conservative” are nothing more than punch-lines for elite in Washington. I apologize to anyone here who heard this before, but the Republican primary in my home state perfectly exemplifies this claim. In our first primary the incumbent Thad Cochran, who refused to debate or even have anything approaching an open press conference, came in second to Chris McDaniel. After that the accusations of “racism” from people associated with the Cochran camp began, Democrat ads telling others to vote for Cochran, ads reminding voters of all the free things Cochran had provided that would disappear if his opponent won, and finally calling upon Democrat voters to cast ballots for him, ideological purity be damned. As anyone can see, the line separating Democrat and Republican gets erased in a hurry when political survival is on the line. Can anyone deny the tactics Cochran used are right out of the Democrat playbook? Did anyone in the RNC even comment re: how Mr. Cochran secured his victory? Qui tacet consentit.
If you want to believe that those in Washington hold as true to their political beliefs as you do, so be it. I’m not smart enough to make you see the truth when you see evidence all around you. Enjoy your bliss...
BTW, would you grab the life preserver or first ask the one who threw it how he votes?

we will lose the Senate and legislatures in states all over the country

That was already in the works before Trump even jumped in the race because the current crop was/is failing us

I believe either man will make an outstanding President,

I'm with you Jeff. All of this infighting is getting really irritating to me.

your failure to quote Cruz accurately is what the problem here is,not just that trump is calling for violence at his rallies

If you strumpets ever started to tell the truth about cruz, your complaints wold go away

That is a non answer. I at least addressed them one by one.

But you’re right he SAYS he is pro amnesty. That is not conservative.

Actually yes I have listened to him and what I stated is what he’s said on every point I made. He admits he’s not conservative.

You evidently failed to read my complete post. I believe I said that Trump didn’t cause this.

But his speech patterns promote unrest. Like the old man that elbowed the protester. Now Trump is “considering” paying his legal fees.

Trump projects strength, something America is sorely lacking these days. He’s the only one with a backbone and who has a shot at dealing with a corrupt establishment.

We don’t have an open primary in Maryland, so I can’t vote in the primary. For many reasons including having a modicum of political impact, I remained registered as a dem.

Early on I liked Paul and Walker... since then I briefly supported Cruz and then no one...I will vote for whomever is the nominee during the general.

If I had to choose today, even though he repulses me... I’d vote for Trump. I don’t even know if he repulses me more than the others lol But I am sick of the left framing the narrative, and I can’t wait to see Hillary go down.

“I will write in Cruz no matter what...”

Yeah, write the feller born in Canada in. You can write it on the Constitution he just stomped on.

What you perceive as “projecting strength” I do not.

But that is a simple matter of perception and difference of opinion. That really is no problem in my mind.

My initial post on this thread was about not really liking any of the current crop...but willingness to vote for the nominee in the general. The Socialist and the Criminal scare me that much.

You addressed them one by one but you apparently have no investigative skills or at the very least have no desire to investigate.

As for Trump being pro-amnesty lol...that's why he's been attacked by the left and the media for exactly the opposite for months. That alone shows your unwillingness to even dwell in reality.

I started out as a big Cruz supporter until I saw one of Trumps first rally speeches last year.

I’ve been a strong Trump supporter ever since.
