Will most Trump supporters understand if Trump is defeated via a convention fight?

No. They will third party or stay home.

I’m a cruzer and if a bargained convention does not include the top 2, now being Trump/Cruz, then count me out the party is dead to me

No. They will third party or stay home.

In an ironic twist of fate, Trump supporters, miffed at their hero's failure to be nominated at the Republican Convention stayed home or voted third party, made possible the second Clinton Presidency.

When interviewed about the results of their actions, most replied that they were waiting for the next General Election (not likely to be held for eight years).

When asked how they voted in the two previous election which resulted in a two term Democratic Presidency which they all believed a disaster for the country, they all replied that they stay home because they didn't like the Republican candidate.

If the ‘magic’ number becomes unreachable, should Trump assume that a convention fight would be rigged and preempt it as an independent candidate?
