Exactly what I was thinking. The GOP is in trouble because they have been the center-right wing of the DemocRat Party and have repeatedly given the DemocRats everything they wanted. They have treated conservatives as unwelcome but necessary supporters.

The GOP of today is like an NFL team that never gets into the playoffs year after year. The players get complacent and comfortable cashing their big checks, being the big men in their little town, and think the fans will keep buying tickets.
