Trump is very much an unknown quantity with no voting record - kind of like Obama in 2008.
This makes it easy for Trump supporters to see what they want to see in Trump based on their own preconception and project their beliefs, political thoughts, hopes and aspirations onto Trump
They see what they want to see in Trump, and have not done (and do not wish to do) any due diligence on Donald Trumps past to discover the true Donald Trump and they have a strong desire to believe in Trump regardless of information that conflict with their perceptions of him
I am positive about Trump and will definitely support him if he wins the nomination .
I also feel he is the most electable of all serious candidates
I also have reservations about Trump and feel he had absolutely no vetting which puts him at serious risk for very damaging skeletons coming out of the closet after he has won the nomination if he wins
I also have absolutely no idea of how Trump will conduct himself as President if elected although My personal opinion (based on very partial information and my own personal bias and projections) is that he will do very well and be a good President.
One thing I am certain of is that Trump is preferable to Sanders and God help us all if Hillary Clinton is elected
Trump may not have a VOTING record, but he does have an actual record, so he’s a bit different from Obama who was pretty unknown except for us who went digging.
How you interpret that record is up to you.
I am pretty much aligned with you.
I do think I have looked into the background and found more kindness than I expected by Trump.
I am willing to bet on him to rise to the position and do what he now says. I wish I could expect congress to back him.
