What did you hope to accomplish with a fist fight. A protest is civil disobedience for a cause. It is about forcing the confrontation and having the other side break bad first. Progressives get that. You thought like a “reactionary” by trying to get the “big win” by fighting with 3 people. If you had beaten them to a pulp, would your cause have been advanced the slightest bit?
Hearts and minds! Being the people who will peacefully stand their ground while the tear gas is being readied is the way to protest. You don’t leave quietly at the first demand to disperse, but you also don’t take it to bloody insurrection either. Not yet, at least.
