Mayhap a picture or two would help alleviate our ignorance,
Good looking pistol, nice reviews. I wouldn’t mind having one in my gun cabinet.
I have a CZ 97B, a P-O1 and a Kadet. I replaced the guide springs with SS.
Interesting, someone found that a brass door hinge pin worked.
But the plastic guide rods worked fine and make it easier to re-assemble after cleaning.
I replaced the recoil spring with a stiffer Wolff spring on the bigger gun.
Aesthetics: if you replace the grips, look at CZ walnut at the CZ Store online. Thin aluminum CZ grips for the 97.
I like Sellier and Bellot ammo, otherwise, any good American stuff, FMJ for the big gun.
Congrats , I was just looking at the P01 and the P07 last night on YouTube. Unfortunately the P07 is not on the approved gun roster here in California. Why did you choose the alloy as opposed to the polymer?
Do be careful, its really terrible when you loose all of the weapons you worked so hard to accumulate, only to fall to the bottom of a lake. I lost everything I had on / at Lake Bozo.
In Case you don't know, Lake Bozo, is 10 (ten) Light-years deep. ;-)
Oooh! Gun porn! That’s purty! CZ makes good stuff.
Never had an issue with the rod. Trigger was gritty and needed a lot of polishing.
The link below is to a good review article on the SP-01 series. Was there a particular reason for choosing 9mm rather than .40 caliber (assuming it was available)? The CZ-75 was Jeff Cooper’s favorite handgun after the 1911. It helped start the “wonder nine” movement in handgun technology. It’s built on the basic design of the Browning Hi-Power (P-35), which is another one of the great handguns of all time.

Only if it comes in purple and stainless steel!!!
Had one of the CZ 75 Compact Ds until losing it on a fishing trip.
While a bit sensitive to what it is fed, a terrific firearm.
I really, REALLY like the Cz75 and variations thereof, but I'm also a long-time Browning Hi-Power/ GP fan. Your Cz will likely give you excellent service, but order the obvious spare parts from your factory parts source- a set of springs, an extractor, a firing pin, and maybe a spare safety assemply; that's more insurance against potential lost parts than breakage, but if you plan on keeping it for your lifetime, it doesn't hurt to hedge your bets. And of course, variations in holsters until you find what works for you, and magazines, many, many magazines.
I hope it makes the canoe trip home.
Maybe the new ones float? Nah, it'd spoil your excuse. Better than my old standby The dog ate it.
My wife loves her 75B. I’ve not fired it... but it feels like a solid gun when I’ve gripped it.
Congrats on your purchase. Hope you like it as much as the wife loves her CZ.
There are a lot of reasonably priced nice ones out there, but one made specifically for the SP01 is this very nice unit from Alien Gear. [Shown here with an XDs, but hit the link]
