I just ordered a CZ75 SP01. I have heard Many good things about it. I already love CZ and have considered the CZ75B for a while, but the SP01 is (to me)a must have. Full size, high cap, reliable and Pretty. There is some questions on springs (#'s) and plastic guide rods. Has anyone had issues?? I am getting it anyway but would like to know what I may need to do to it. I hope it makes the canoe trip home.
Bad night for gun porn. tooo much going on
The installation should give you the punch size. The end should go easily into the correct side. Don’t force it into the ‘captive’ side. I almost did.
viz-glo? Trying to remember the name. I left the rear site alone.
Thanks Viz-Glo?? did you get it from Cagun Gun Works??
Yes! That’s where I got the 97 grips too. CZ is often out of their own stuff.
CGW are good people.
Don’t mean to be tedious but the CZ walnut grips really make my P-01 look sharp.
Good luck finding holsters. Try Alien holsters for inside the waistband
I live in the country and don’t get out much. That was fine. Nice looking pistol.
Never had an issue with the rod. Trigger was gritty and needed a lot of polishing.
The link below is to a good review article on the SP-01 series. Was there a particular reason for choosing 9mm rather than .40 caliber (assuming it was available)? The CZ-75 was Jeff Cooper’s favorite handgun after the 1911. It helped start the “wonder nine” movement in handgun technology. It’s built on the basic design of the Browning Hi-Power (P-35), which is another one of the great handguns of all time.

Only if it comes in purple and stainless steel!!!
Had one of the CZ 75 Compact Ds until losing it on a fishing trip.
While a bit sensitive to what it is fed, a terrific firearm.
Very nice pistol. I had an older 75B and it shot well over the years. Sold it to buy a real pistol - a Sig Sauer P 226
Anyone can have them custom made. Got mine from HBD Specialty Leatherworks
High roller! HBD Specialty Leatherworks, OK, thanks.
The biggest problem I found with CZs was finding holsters. Another good place for CZs, fyi, is High Noon holsters: cowhide, horsehide and their own synthetic. Not too much green & good quality.
Jimma, I visited Cajun Gun Works, the site has changed a bit since I was last there. I’m almost positive that punch is 1/16th. The Hi Viz optic rod makes a big difference, esp, for older eyes.
Used to be a guy named `Mad Ogre’ who liked to feature CZs, but I haven’t been there in a while either.
Search `Patrick Sweeney and CZ97’ if you want to read a gun mag article about CZ’s .45.
I really, REALLY like the Cz75 and variations thereof, but I'm also a long-time Browning Hi-Power/ GP fan. Your Cz will likely give you excellent service, but order the obvious spare parts from your factory parts source- a set of springs, an extractor, a firing pin, and maybe a spare safety assemply; that's more insurance against potential lost parts than breakage, but if you plan on keeping it for your lifetime, it doesn't hurt to hedge your bets. And of course, variations in holsters until you find what works for you, and magazines, many, many magazines.
I hope it makes the canoe trip home.
Maybe the new ones float? Nah, it'd spoil your excuse. Better than my old standby The dog ate it.
Tell the guy you're selling it to that it's a custom mag well bevel job. Yeah, that's the ticket.
My wife loves her 75B. I’ve not fired it... but it feels like a solid gun when I’ve gripped it.
Congrats on your purchase. Hope you like it as much as the wife loves her CZ.
You REALLY understate my salesmanship skills....
These Glocks are so strong, you can drop one in the grass on the range, and they can run over it with a lawnmower, and it still works....
There are a lot of reasonably priced nice ones out there, but one made specifically for the SP01 is this very nice unit from Alien Gear. [Shown here with an XDs, but hit the link]
