There's equally a lot of reasons to vote for Trump ... and good ones at that, too.
For me, it's a matter of genesis.
Trump's filter has been, for 40 plus years, "How do I get things to work that makes (me) money?"
Many people are paying lip service to the "Make America Great Again" slogan because they have never experienced a great America before
I have
I have played hookey from high school, walked into a factory and started Monday on a part time or 2nd shift job .... which soon made me hate THAT kind of work .... so I played hookey again and on a Friday, had a job starting Monday.
THAT WAS A COMMON OCCURRENCE IN POST WW2 AMERICA
I personally believe Viet Nam was invented to get rid of us relatively educated, determined and beginning to understand wealth and how to get it ... blossoming political male minds .
We were a serious threat to the status quo, the machine, the man ... call it what you will ... we had to be dealt with and the best way to get rid of men is to kill them off .... and war is the more easily acceptable way
Until now.
Trump has an understanding (imo) of how things used to work, what happened to stop or make things difficult to work and what could/should/would (if he only had the power) to make them workagain
Selfish ?
Every ONE of us is selfish .... Those that will vote for Cruz say in their soul I want Cruz .... or I want Trump .... because
I think, want, believe (whatever)
Trump has my vote
That was because the rest of the world had blown itself up, and America had almost the only functioning modern economy.
Trump isn't going to bring that situation back for you or your children. We have to compete on a global stage, and no amount of shouted slogans and juvenile behavior is going to accomplish that.
Post WW II you recite was anomalie. It was not the normal condition. It was but a passing blip on the historical timeline.
Normalization is currently in flux, meaning there is no true normal.
Events in the mideast and possibly the South China Sea are candidates for the next normalization disruption.
