A veterinary officer told a magistrate’s court here that he slapped his wife several times inside a hospital lift because she was rude to him.
Mohammad Affandi Ismail, 39, from Jerantut, Pahang, said he was angry and wanted to teach her a lesson for disrespecting him as her husband.
Questioned by DPP Datuk Razali Che Ani, he replied that he had acted spontaneously when he slapped her multiple times on the head and kicked her twice.
“It was spontaneous. I was angry that she had turned her back to me.
“I slapped the back of her head and kicked her.
“I was aiming for her mouth because we had argued over family matters before that,” he said and agreed with Razali that he beat up his wife on his own will and nobody had forced him to do so.
Magistrate Mohd Fitri Sadardin adjourned the trial to March 10 for continued hearing.
Mohammad Affandi was ordered by a magistrate’s court to enter his defence on a charge of voluntarily causing harm.
He is accused of committing the offence at the KPJ Hospital in Bandar Perda at about 4pm on Aug 12, 2013. The charge under Section 323 of the Penal Code carries a maximum one-year jail term or maximum RM2,000 fine or both.
Who are we to judge?
Who does he think he is? A Muslim?

My friend’s adult son hit his girlfriend in the face. She pressed charges, even though not hurt. He spent five years in prison for that. He should have converted to Islam before striking her, and get off easy. Not saying its right to strike a woman, but I’m saying Islam is a nasty disgusting religion the way they treat women.
A few slaps and a couple kicks in an elevator? Who does he think he is, Ray Rice?
I have to laugh at the women in this country who support Hillary and her close ties to Islam through Huma.

IMO, any male who hits a woman is not a man....
I never called the cops, but did leave after having a drink thrown in my face followed by the heavy glass being thrown at my head. I hoped that he would get counseling because I love him madly. He will not; it sucks to be abused and thrown away.

Do not go back. Someone who can treat you with such disrespect does not deserve your love. Get counseling for yourself.
If it was Allah’s will (that’s what they all say) then why did he wait to do it hidden away in the elevator?

Thanks; I know that logically, but it is terribly painful.
Also sorry to hear of this. I'm sure others have told you that you're an enabler, allowing him to get away with abusive behavior. You really need to call the cops on him, as that will force the issue of counseling for him. I get upset from time to time (often) but in over forty years have never struck my wife. Once would be too much. Plus I know my wife would definitely call the cops on me, and she has access to my guns...
The real story on this is that a Muslim country is prosecuting him for beating his wife

Yes, I realized too late that I should have called the cops; maybe being faced with that would have helped. On the other hand he won’t admit he has a problem (everything was MY fault of course)...so who knows?
Maybe his next victim will do so. His brother is on his third wife for the same reason...wife 3.0 did call the cops on him. Remains to be seen if it helps or not.
