A jury awarded $55 million to Fox Sports reporter Erin Andrews in her lawsuit against a Nashville Marriott hotel on Monday.
Andrews sued the hotel alleging it acted negligently when allowing a man who was stalking her to book the room next to hers and surreptitiously film nude videos of her in 2008 while she worked for ESPN. The stalker, Michael David Barrett, posted the videos online and pleaded guilty to stalking charges, for which he was sentenced to 30 months in prison.

Where I used to work, there were adjoining men's and women's rooms, and the end stalls in each were separated by a wall. Well, someone bored a hole from the stall in the men's room into the stall in the women's room, and did some peeping while he was peeing. So yeah, that happens.
Once the hole was discovered, a metal plate was installed to prevent a recurrence.
Since it worked for this the gun manufactures are next.

I don’t know what was proven but it was alleged that hotel employes gave dates of stay and arranged for him to have the room next door where he drilled peep holes.
Since there are multiple incidents of this happening, I would say that it was no accident.
It may have been a shakedown. She and He may have been in cahoots..

By the same measure that if a DUI only cost $15 in fines then it would not deter anyone from committing a DUI.
While I hope that the amount gets reduced on appeal the initial amount is enough to get the attention of everyone in the USA who gives away guest information without even thinking about it.
