That’s actually one of the loyalty tests in hardcore Maoist or Stalinist groups, including the ones in the USA like the RCP. You have to state a willingness to execute your own spouse or children if the party decrees them “enemies of the people.”
No “bourgeois sentimentality” is allowed.
