I took some time away from FR and Im enjoying that time immensely.(it just takes an attitude adjustment).
So off I go.
I considered shutting up and simply leaving but since I have been here a while I figured , Hell I might as well say something and Opuses are somewhat of a tradition..... thus the Opus route won

And there is not much agreement on terms anymore. The main term not agreed on is "CONSERVATIVE "

since I have been on FR the following has happened....
Bill Clinton and his wife , both lawyers, skirted the law and broke the law in a myriad ways.
And while Freepers (and I) were appalled, most of the American People did not give a damn and continue to embrace them.
Next Al Gore came way too close to being elected President but we celebrated when Bush won
Integrity and honesty were big selling points when GW Bush was voted in. As far as Im concerned GW had them, still has them and the Bush's (now hated en mass) had class, which was a far cry from the previous Clinton years.
Then with 9/11 America (sort of ) woke up and realized that people in the Middle East had declared war on us some time back .....and they were serious.
WE, AMERICA (not just Bush ) then declared war. Overwhelming support was shown by almost all our representatives in Congress.
But after a few years some anti war people convinced Democrats that Bush was stupid and wrong and America should be anti war and they (the Democrats) could take control. It could be just like just like 1968 again
It was smart politics for the Democrats. Donald Trump also was smart enough at the very beginning to know that Bush was stupid and wrong and he is really proud of that. Gradually many more people were convinced of all this (and to my surprise many Freepers joined them).
The end result was the election of Obama
And a lot of Americans have been just fine with that shift, just not me. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

What's been left unsaid is whether those who are not in favor of Trump will be allowed to stay should he become the nominee?
I came blustering in here on my birthday in 2004 trying to tell the World “THEY” were doing everything “THEY” could to redefine to the masses conservatism in their own light, but nobody would listen. Now that they’ve accomplished their goal I guess I should say I told you so, but I won’t.
I’m still here, and will remain here trying to say what I believe is happening.
Wish you would stay in support of the rest of us who are at least trying.

This election has proven to be a mixed blessing. Had Trump not run, Cruz would have been the target of the establishment. Trump has been a lightening rod and protected Cruz from the ZOTs.
Between the two of them, we have all but secured the election from the establishment.
Instead of being Trump or Cruz “jerks”, we should be counting our blessings, grow up, and concentrate on finally winning.
Dude....don’t leave. There are a TON of Cruz supporters still here that hardly ever post anymore because the board’s been taken over by liberals and low info people. but we’re here.
Cruz is fixin to win Kansas and is up in Maine. That tells me Trump’s fading.

I don’t care if I meet the cookie-cutter called ‘conservAtive’ or not, and here is why:
1. I was born here, and are of Injun-no-dot and European blood.
2. I am a military veteran who swore an Oath, still honors that Oath, and would still spill blood, and let mine be spilt, according to that Oath.
3. I have ‘done my own books’, as far as taxes go, from the year that I first filled out an IRS form, with ‘nary an audit, to this time.
4. I have kept my own finances in order, and expect the same from those I elect to office.
5. This business of mass invasion of Hispanics and mohammedans, is an outrage, and I would not shed a tear, if the only way to cease such things, is with a bloody bayonet.
6. I have been alive to witness, from the days of the Watts riots forward, a nation coddling a particular segment of society, when they are a known minority of the general population, instead of putting down the inciters, to protect the rest of the nation, instead of standing back and watching it burn.
7. The 1st amendment, which is covered in said Oath, does not give anybody the right to trample on anybody else’s right to speech, thought, mingling, and worship.
8. I do not believe, nor have I ever believed, since first learning what it is, that abortion is a ‘right’ at all. If you don’t want to have an abortion, don’t copulate! If the individual has suffered being abused or criminally raped, it is obvious that the indivual did NOT choose to copulate, therefore, it is that individual’s decision to carry the seed of such action and go through the psychiatric roller coaster, or not.
9. The 2nd amendment reads as it does, and no elected/annointed/appointed person has the right to tell you or me, ‘no’.
10. I have seen foreign governments modeled on the British Socialist model. They suck. I have had the opportunity to work with Ukrainian Soviet religious refugees, who confirmed all I had been taught about Communism. It sucks.
Lastly,I still hold to the individual, succeeding or sucking, on their own merits, without any coddling or interference from the federal and state governments.
Should for any possible reason, any of what I said offends you, then in this wonderful world of the make believe right of not being offended, I suggest you explore this Latin phrase, and all the subtleties connected with it:

Bush would not even name the correct enemy. We were at war with 'terrorism'. Islam was a Religion of Peace, remember.
Then we got the Patriot Act, TSA, Homeland Security, etc. I got nothing good to say about him.
It was not the war that angered me. Bush’s botched nation building was wasteful and an embarrassment Bush’s effort to open the border with Mexico shortly after the twin towers was ghastly. In general Bush and the spendthrifts of the GOP were frustrating
If those yobs are considered conservative you can have them
