Speaking on the floor of the U.S. Senate, Majority Leader Harry Reid previewed what's to come this November if Donald Trump wins the Republican presidential nomination.
"Republicans are supporting a man who refused to denounce the KKK," Reid said Wednesday, tearing into the "Frankenstein Party" that could nominate Trump at this summer's Republican convention in Cleveland.
"A man who continues to denigrate immigrants, Muslims and the disabled," Reid said. "Donald Trump is the standard-bearer for the Republican Party."
Democrats up and down the ballot plan to savage their Republican opponents if Trump is the GOP standard-bearer, with constant reminders of the things he's said.

After a 2014 drubbing that saw them lose control of the Senate, Democrats are playing offense in 2016, aiming to take back five seats against a Republican Party that must protect senators who came to power in the Republican wave of 2010.With Trump at the top of the ticket, there's an argument to be made that their job might be easier -- especially in Senate battlegrounds like Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire and Nevada, places with significant populations of suburbanites, young people and minority voters.

Kirk, McCain, Ayotte, Johnson, Burr and others won’t be defeated because of Trump. They will be defeated because they are POS RINOs.
Republican elites and purists will chase away all new “Trump Republicans” and many old ones. Ds win. SCOTUS goes left. Pretty simple.
If this is a land-slide year (some Trump-enthusiasts would argue this), then Republican senators running ought to gain help at the ballots.
Now, with this spoken...a number of people want to see McCain replaced (preferably by a Republican challenger, but by a Democrat if necessary).
In the case of Barb Boxer retiring....a Republican challenger might actually win in this type of year where Trump voters show up.
In the case of Harry Reid retiring at the end of this season, it’s possible that Joe Heck might win the Nev election and shock Harry.
If I were forecasting....the Republicans will win all their present seats and might take two additional seats.

I don’t understand why McConnell, McCain, Graham et al keep saying if Trump gets the nomination Hillary will win and get to appoint the SC justices. Are they so dumb that they actually don’t know that they can block her appointees?

Robert K. Byrd was a Grand Wizard of the KKK and he was a Democrat and he was one of the longest members of the Senate as a Democrat...

You look at what happened with Justice Thomas, with Anita Hill, that was a set up to keep him off the SCOTUS, he ‘came off the plantation’ and the Democrats didn’t like it...

Yes. I read a most chilling comment in WAPO in some article by Dana Millbank (didn't know Dana was a he, knew he was a lib).
First it was Hillary/Elizabeth Warren that got kicked around, various pro's and con's. Then further down one person suggested, and it's just an idle comment, that Hillary would take Obama as her running mate.
Anything is possible in order to win for both of them, and he did say the family was staying in DC so the younger daughter could finish school there.
