VANITY: The most important election in the history of the United States.

Posted on 03/04/2016 3:10:10 PM PST by HWGruene

This would be considered a "vanity" post by some, but here it goes. The choices for the leader of the free world is Americana as it has ever been. Everything aside, who do YOU want to represent you to the world and would be proud to have the person known as "leader of the free world"?

Everything aside, who do YOU want to represent you to the world and would be proud to have the person known as "leader of the free world"? We all have a stake in it. Otherwise we end up with another Clinton. The best is Trump. I'm sorry Cruzbots or that other cuban rubio establishment man with ears bigger that jug -ears imam zero, but you should consider what is at stake, and how in the hell we got here! I'd rather have a nut cutting businessman with some say a shady background that made his money and has it LEGALLY, than a single establishment man or woman.I disagree with Trump on abortion or letting the criminal illegals back in, BUT if we can propel him into office, he will listen to us if he wants a following term. I think he does, and not for himself, but for the country.

Most important vanity in history. But seriously, it is important.

I have written a number of editorials on Trump’s strengths.

But here is the situation-—please timestamp this for future reference: We are at the point where EVEN if voters didn’t believe Trump would or could do half the stuff he says, we need to show the elites every once in a while that WE, not they, are in control. I forget who said this but the line was “Legislators are pigs, and every now and then you have to smack them in the snout!”

Well, the same thing with the elites. On a normal, everyday basis Americans cannot muster enough consistent emotion to overcome their money and relentless control of the media. But once in a while we do: 1828, 1980. Bloodless revolutions happen. We smack them on the snout just enough that they don’t get to rule with impunity. And that’s where we are.

The public senses a time, in both parties, where we can smack them on the snout and remind them that “We the People” still rule. Only a Trump (or Sanders, really) does that.

I would go with 1860 as the most important in American history, the one where the other funny looking guy with big ears won. Most important in this generation for sure.

The most important election was 1912, and America lost.

This is not new to anyone who has seen my posts:

I like Cruz because he is a hardcore Consitutionalist. (I know, some Trumpsters will bring out the natural born citizen canard. Whatever.)

I like Trump because he is beholden to nobody and is a successful fighter who could not care less about political correctness.

I’ll be happy with either.

The rest, esp yipper dog Rubio or cardboard man Kasich? Not so much.

I’d vote for that guy too.

He seems mostly no nonsense and all.

No, Reagan in 1980.
There was very proximate chance of nuclear war.
Not now, yet.
