It's plausible as the property was razed some years ago. Not much of a story - even if it is true, the point is moot. "Justice" in this realm has run its course and no amount of facts will ever convince the nitwits who think he's innocent...

He’s a construction worker. . . . Doing construction on the estate, which a lot of times requires digging. And the DNA results will prove if it’s a hoax or not.
If it has the victim's blood and DNA on it, it makes no difference how he found it. It is the murder weapon. Chain of custody.... yadda yadda yadda....
Double Jeopardy! Video of OJ killing those two folks wouldn't make a difference because he has already been tried for the capital crime.
Somebody bought his property and his old house was demolished years ago and another one built.
If the knife was actually the one OJ used and he had thrown it in the bushes it conceivably have been buried during the construction of the new house.
