If You’re Pro-Life You Don’t Praise Planned Parenthood

Allow me to make an extreme comparison.

Along with their murderous, barbaric policies and practices, the Nazis engaged in serious medical research, and some Nazi doctors, like Prof. Dr. Julius Hallervorden (1882-1965), a famous neurologist who became head of the Neuropathology Department of the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Brain Research in 1938, continued to advance their medical research after the Holocaust.

Yet no person in his or her right mind would say, “I hate the fact that these Nazi doctors were involved in torturing and slaughtering so many people, but they helped a lot of people too, so I’m going to be balanced in my criticism.”

To highlight the absurdity of this, let’s consider Donald Trump’s post-Super Tuesday comments when he again gave qualified praise to Planned Parenthood. But here I’ll substitute “Nazis” for “Planned Parenthood” and “genocide” for “abortion.”

His comments would then read: “Look, the Nazis have done very good work for many, many — for millions of women. And I’ll say it, and I know a lot of the so-called conservatives, they say that’s really … cause I’m a conservative, but I’m a common-sense conservative.”

“We're not going to allow, and we're not going to fund, as long as you have the genocide going on . . . .”

To quote (with the same word-changes) from his most recent debate, “So you can say whatever you want, but they have millions of women going through the Nazis that are helped greatly.”

Can you imagine anyone making statements like these?

For all those who are offended by the comparison between the Nazis and Planned Parenthood and between genocide and abortion, please take a look at some abortion photos, consider the compelling evidence that Planned Parenthood traffics in aborted baby parts (despite a recent court ruling to the contrary), and remember that Planned Parenthood has covered up for men who sexually abused minors.

Note also that, according to the Heritage Foundation, “Despite a nearly 20 percent decline in the number of abortions in the country between 2000 and 2011, the number of abortions Planned Parenthood performed during that time increased from 197,070 to 333,964, thereby more than doubling its share of the abortion market from 15 percent in 2000 to 32 percent in 2011, the latest year for which national data are available.”

Put simply, can anyone who is in any true sense of the word pro-life praise the nation’s largest and most aggressive abortion provider, despite other services they perform?

To give another example, no one with a pro-life bone in their body would say, “Well, Dr. Kermit Gosnell helped a lot of women over the years, and we really appreciate that, but we’re upset that he killed living babies as well.”

No. They would excoriate Gosnell’s so-called “House of Horrors” and would say that it’s good he’s behind bars.

In the same way, it is absolutely ludicrous that Donald Trump would once more sing the praises of Planned Parenthood (with the exception of their abortion industry) at his Tuesday night, widely-televised, national press conference, despite all the innocent baby blood on their hands.

More absurd still, he called those who criticized him on this “so-called conservatives.”

What, Mr. Trump? Will you say that to the people who, as true moral conservatives, have sacrificially invested dozens of years of their lives to fight against Planned Parenthood? Would you say that they are “so-called conservatives” and you are the true conservative because you recognize all the good Planned Parenthood has done?

If women’s health care is an issue to you (and I believe it is), then let the government help out the countless thousands of non-Planned Parenthood healthcare clinics. These clinics massively outnumber the Planned Parenthood clinics and they do not have the blood of abortion on their hands.

For those who are still upset with me over the Nazi comparison (and I’m not claiming it is an exact parallel), let’s change the analogy for a moment.

Let’s say there’s a big hospital that has operated in your city for decades, saving thousands of lives over the years with its terrific healthcare programs. Unfortunately, it’s also infamous for euthanizing about one-third of its patients, both young and old, at the discretion of the doctors.

You would not say, “Hey, I would fund the hospital if not for all that euthanasia. You see, I’ve heard from thousands of people – I have letters from them – telling me about the great work they do. They’ve really helped a lot of people.”

Of course not.

You would say instead, “What a horror! That hospital needs to be shut down today and those doctors need to be charged with murder.”

So it is with Planned Parenthood, and if anyone needed proof that Donald Trump is still not a true pro-life candidate, his continued qualified praise of Planned Parenthood, coupled with the vilification of his conservative pro-life critics, says it all.

With the makeup of the Supreme Court hanging in the balance and with the absence of Justice Scalia already being felt, it is critical that we elect a true pro-life president.

Let’s do what we need to do while the options are still there.

Yep. Building the wall pretty much would be enough.

What I am not willing to do is watch 40 years of GOP politicians talk but no action on Government funding for abortion continue unchallenged just because they say the right words on the campaign trail

You are correct that there is probably a correct understanding of Donalds position that is Pro-Life. The problem as I see it is that Trump spent his life totally focused on business and only gave momentary consideration to political issues.

What happens now that he sees the country going down the toilet and jumps in is that he sometime lets his mouth get in gear before he has even studied the question. In private business this is only a privately offensive approach. In the middle of the public square, it makes him look, ill informed, unprepared and I mean no offense, but, unprincipled.

He needs to realize there are twenty topics that are hot issues to single issue voters and he has to know in advance where he truly wants to stand.

Right you are MNJohnnie. It’s maddening and yet, so expected. Somehow, the reality never seems to quite sink in.

Trump acolytes will say this is no big deal - it's an isolated thing.

And hoping others will ignore - money to Sharpton, money to the Clintons, money to Democrats, amnesty, support for universal health care, gun control, eminent domain, ethanol subsidies, etc, etc, etc

He is using COMMON SENSE which is sadly lacking with all or nothing conservatives. Narrow minded, tunnel focus, STUPID individuals who can’t see the forest for the trees are destroying this country whether they be whatever TITLE or LABEL accorded them.

“...is the only thing that has resulted in progress on public support of the pro-life position in the past. Its not rocket science.”

Guess that explains why abortion has been outlawed.

Oh. Wait.

> Planned parenthood takes tax payer money to give contraceptives to women

Just think how much better off America would be if all these welfare women could pinch off new welfare cases as fast as they can. Billions of new GibsMeDats in America would really make it great.

I agree 100% with this article and the comparison to Nazi Germanys experimental cruel operations. PP is exactly what the Nazi's started....we should just name PP the Joseph Mengele's Extended Experimental Surgery center, and be done with it.

Without abortions there is no reason for PP to exist.

Wrong, Trump people realize actually accomplishing 80% of something rather then continuing the 40 years tradition of GOP candidates saying the right words on the campaign trail and accomplishing 100% of nothing is the goal.

That seems to solve it for me. Get rid of abortions and I can’t think of anything else they do that have a problem with. Although I do think that if you take a way the abortions they would shrivel up and disappear as a business.

I’ve been to the MFL many times. Activism has its role.

But money talks, unfortunately. Take the financial incentive out of the abortion industry and it will fold like any other.

That starts with cutting the federal funding.

A lot of people are missing the point. I think Trump knows PP won’t change and it becomes their choice and he drops the hammer on them.

Saying it this way and knowing all libs hear is that PP does some good things, they automatically assume he’ll protect them.

Saying directly that you’re going to get rid of PP alienates a lot of voters in the general. If you read closely, he essentially says if PP eliminates abortions, they can stay. If not, they’re gone.

It better to stay on topic than getting into a divisive PP war.

Let’s not forget about PP pushing homosexual “rights” as well. The org was created from evil, and it is evil to the core. PP needs completely defunded. Any “good” this evil organization does brings more evil into the world via the law of unintended consequences.

If you want to write planned parenthood a check because you think it keeps people off social welfare with the pill go ahead. But why should I be forced to contribute. Artificial birth control and the sexual revolution has led to rampant single motherhood and disease. But hey it’s a wonderful thing.

Common Sense Conservative = someone who uses his brain to THINK instead of throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

2013 Planned Parenthood

2.7 MILLION Patients
4.6 MILLION Clinical Visits
10.6 MILLION Discrete services
328 THOUSAND Abortions.

It seems to me that there were a lot of useful services to women’s health FAR BEYOND the despicable Abortion practices which color everybody’s opinion. ALL or NOTHING is what you people are saying. You’re just a bunch of fanatics!

What is good about pedaling birth control to teenagers?

Quite a damn lot if you look around

If stupid teen girls who can’t keep their knickers on would just get up and take them every morning

Most of these stupid cows today want to get knocked up

I have taken synthroid and aspirin every day for 28 years and counting

Why do many women and girls forget to take the pill so many days always baffled me till I figured it out

Women are different

What they say and what they really mean are two different things often

Me personally I would not fund planned parenthood regardless....they have become a govt arm basically

Trump has been clear no funding for abortion

I am not sure precisely how their services go?

The percentages depend on who’s talking

I would point out that Planned Parenthood is not the only entity that gets public assistance that is an abortion provider

Most teaching hospitals that are not Catholic or Southern Baptist do not

But all Jewish hospitals I’ve seen do provide abortions as well as mainline liberal denomination Church sponsored hospitals

It’s a damn problem beyond planned parenthood

My guess is Trump is listening to women advisors telling him to speak harsh on abortion all you want but don’t let the Dems and media box you in that you oppose sonograms and mammograms and Yasmin for high school girls

I’m not Catholic and I approve of birth control measures like condoms or some IUDs or the Pill

Not that we took much precautions.....
