Corroding the human spirit is what they’re trying to do. they need a permanent and ever expanding underclass to keep themselves in power permanently.
He may be a relic, but universal truths are timeless.
He might be talking about Russia. 110 people own 35% of the household wealth there. The rest have a pot to piss in if they are lucky.
Maybe you know about the time of Bobby Fischer? I recently watched the movie “Pawn Sacrifice” and found it fascinating, but these events happened before I was even born. Did the movie capture it right?
I’ve never seen Pawn Sacrifice (I should probably get around to that!), but one book I can recommend for anyone interested in Fischer’s life is Endgame, by Frank Brady. It was written after he died in Iceland, and I didn’t think the book pushed an agenda. Frank Brady himself wasn’t really in Fischer’s small group of trusted friends, but he knew him from their time in the Marshall Chess Club and got interviews from most of Fischer’s closet friends (Spassky, the Polgara, Sverrisson).
Fischer had some pretty crazy views and opinions (he had one of the more revolting responses to 9/11), but I always found it horrendous how his life was ruined by a stupid UN resolution.
>Fischer had some pretty crazy views
“I’m very concerned because I think the Jews want to drive the elephants to extinction because the trunk of an elephant reminds them of an uncircumcised penis. I’m absolutely serious about that... Jews are sick, they’re mental cases.”
— B. Fischer
Yeah. That is pretty crazy.
No argument here. He’s one of the weirder cases of anti-Semitism because he himself was a Jew. It’s believed that he got it from his hatred of his mother.
The Pawn Sacrifice movie starts with a scene where Bobby is about 5 years old and his commie mother is having one of her commie parties. Then she comes to Bobby and tells “You’re a good boy. Do you remember what mommie teaches - report any and all cars watching us”.
I have a slight problem with the movie in how they described Spassky. It shows the first game they played and that was in Florida. Young Fischer lost there and got himself a large bottle of whiskey that he drank in frustration. When he wakes up he is at a beach near Spassky hotel and sees Spassky going to swim with KGB thugs watching. He then lashes out saying “you don’t dare to come anywhere without these thugs” even though the KGB thugs are there to prevent Spassky from escaping the socialist paradise. I believe the movie should have made that aspect clearer. Plus it showed the Grand Master Iivo Nei as a retard thug, even though the man was there in Iceland because he had a great mind for chess. Thugs were plenty to have.
Oh, if that’s how they portrayed Spassky I may not bother to watch the movie. Spassky was quick to flee to France the instant the USSR fell, and by all accounts had a respectful relationship with Fischer ever since they first met. Spassky was also not particularly diligent about trying to punish Fischer’s actions during the 1972 match; I think he was disgusted at how the USSR attempted to sabotage Fischer, but knew he couldn’t do anything about it without losing his own life.
Fischer’s mother was, according to all non-Leftist accounts I’ve read, a horrible person.
Not in the world of deconstructionist post-modernism. This is the world the academia has created, and many young americans live in this world.
They are still timeless and the rule.
You are funny. Of course they do, for you and I and others who believe in absolute truths. The problem is, the world today has rejected absolute truths. They do not recognize good vs evil...
Those Laws of Nature and Nature’s God are eternal and apply to everyone at all times.
The Left rejects them in favor of state supremacy. Misery is guaranteed to individuals and nations in proportion to their violation of these truths.
“Garry Kasparov, the former world chess champion and democratic political activist, said he’s committed to preventing the rise of Putinism, whether it is in Russia or this country.
