Book on Islam recommendation
Islam and Terrorism Revised and Updated Edition ^ | 2015 | Mark A. Gabriel

Posted on 03/02/2016 9:12:43 AM PST by Capt. Tom

I have read books on Islam from many Authors including Martin Lings, Robt. Spenser , Bill Warner , Stephen Coughlin ,the Koran and the Hadiths by Bukhari. Plus others.

For a person who doesn't want to go overboard like myself, and just wants to get the basics of what is going on with Islam and us Infidels, I would recommend a book by a former Muslim who has converted to Christianity, and changed his name to Mark A. Gabriel.

Mr. Gabriel is a former Egyptian Muslim who was educated at Al Azhar Univ. in Cairo, the most influential Muslim University in the world. He spent 11 years there getting his Bachelors -Masters - and Doctors degree in History and Culture, and Of course a thorough indoctrination into Islam.

Mark Gabriel has plenty of first hand experience all over the Muslim world since he was also a visiting professor from Al Azhar Univ. to Universities in other Muslim countries.

I would recommend reading his book because it is about 200 pages long with easy to read print and not repetitious, and very much to the point.

Besides getting information on Islam he covers some of the goings on around he Muslim world and the threats to us Infidels.

The problem us Infidels have in understanding Islam is the Koran is written out of order, and there is a big difference between the earlier tolerant Mecca Chapters and the later Militaristic killing chapters in the Medina version of the Koran which supersede the earlier chapters. These Jihadi chapters are what motivates the fundamental Muslim Jihadists we have to face in the world today.

I believe this would be a great first book to read on Islam, and a good read for people who already know about the threat Islam poses to all people who don't believe in Allah and Muhammad. - Tom

There are other resources about gaining an honest look at Islam.
What The Koran Really Says By Ibn Warraq, A Book Review

Dennis Prager’s book “Still the Best Hope” also does a good job of explaining why liberal secularists join forces with Muslims despite the danger.

I read an excellent article on Islam as a perfect meme, designed to create fearless warriors and reasons for men to fight for it (subservient women, top of the social pyramid, right to rape and loot).

I’m trying to remember which liberal pundit said this, but it was along the lines of the Koran is violent and scary, Mohammed’s life was violent and scary, and it is only the moderate Muslims in the West that give us hope.

Who cares who said it - it was just taqyyia any way. There is no hope for Islam as it cannot be reformed lest the reformers throw out Mohammad who deemed it unreformable.

Reformed Islam would be like Christianity that voids the New Testament and most of the Old. It would be like Christianity without Christ or an Islam without Mohammad, the mass murder.

The bible is not going to help you understand Islam.

Are you kidding me? How about the bible plus casual observation of things like 911 and a thousand terrorist attacks and suicide bombers and their hatred of Israel and Christianity.

I would recommend politicalislam.com as a good website to accompany your book. They have short videos on the history of Islam and muhammed. A real eye opener!

>>it is only the moderate Muslims in the West that give us hope.

But it is a false hope. At root, it is a totalitarian, misogynistic political system using religion as a beard and as a means of social control. While there may be moderate Muslims, there is no moderate Islam, there is only Islam. And it isn’t pretty.

You won't understand why the Muslims are like that by reading the Bible.
You should learn about the fundamentals of Islam, since your family and country are in danger.

The New Testament was written 600 years before Islam, and couldn't address a non-existing religion that would in the future have a militaristic and political aspect to it. -Tom

I know. I had to point out to someone that ISIS isn’t violating the Koran, it talks about the disposition of sex slaves and Mohammed had several in addition to his wives.

When I first looked into the dichotomy between God and Allah (Muslims loudly insist the two are the same), I found that it was Jewish sources which emphasized that the Allah of Islam is utterly different from, and opposed to, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Our God is Love. Theirs commands Muslims to kill and destroy, or, as our Savior pointed out, “By their fruits ye shall know them.”

When we read what they tell us... or we read what others tell us about them... we miss the most important component to what they believe.

It’s what they tell each other.

Does Gabriel point out in his book that the God of Creation worshiped by Jews and Christians, and Allah, the deity worshiped by Muslims, are not the same?

The purpose of the book is not to compare Christianity and Islam in a my God is better than your God type of discussion, even though he left Islam for Christianity.

This book is to warn all Kafirs (infidels) of the danger Islam poses to them regardless of their beliefs or non beliefs.

He makes it clear the differences in Christianity and Islam so there should be no doubt the supernatural beings are not the same in those religions. - Tom

I use a tablet for reading...they are quite cheap, as are ebook readers.

And I can make the print huge, which I can’t do with my paper backs. I also can read in bed with the light off, so I don’t disturb my husband. (or did until he died alas a few months ago).

I joined ScribD to get book to read on line since I can’t afford many books on social security and there are no used book kiosks in our town anymore.

Project Gutenburg has lots of free books, and Librivox will let you download audiobooks of classics for free.

Another vivid picture of life under the Koran is described in “Excellent Daughters” by Katherine Zoepf. Sincerely wishing to learn about the culture and the Arabic language, Zoepf enrolled in university in pre-revolutionary Syria.

Her description of the life of adolescent women, and men to some extent, is vivid and tragic. As she is neither a women’s liberation activist nor a muslim-convert; her narrative is all the more disturbing.
