Lots of Nebraskans may never vote for him again, either. Maybe he doesn’t care, as with a year before reelection he could have just kept his mouth shut.

For most of the last twelve months I have consistently said that I will not vote for Trump in either a primary or general election. Nothing has occurred that calls that position into question. Far from it. Mr. Trump reinforces my view of him every time he opens his mouth.

Little Miss We Are Not Amused is blind to the fact eschewing the Republican candidate is voting for Hillary and her bedmate Death to America.

Oh jeez. Nebraska is as red as Utah. No way it is going for Hitlery.

This is more likely to cast him his own seat than Trump the election.

Trump is winning even a very significant number of “Very Conservative” voters

Bitter Ender “Movement Conservatives” can try this tactics at their own peril. When significant portions of your own voters are behind a candidate, it is a high risk, low reward strategy to try and sabotage that candidate.

But do as you will Senator. There will be many of us out here to point out that it is an egotist petulant child mindset that motivates this behavior not any real point of integrity or principal.

Reagan made the point best, something along the lines of “A man 80% on my side is not my enemy.”

So, the establishment demanded that trump sign a contract saying he would support whoever was the ultimate GOP nominee and would not do a third-party run.

Now, when Trump looks like he will be the nominee, the Republican Establishment is saying they will not support him, and would support a 3rd party candidate to deny Trump victory.

Is that what I seem to be hearing?

Ben is a true conservative. But, what some of us are finding out is that conservatism does not work for conservatives. It may work for the corporate elite and the gope rinos. But, as it stands it does not work for us. We are really looking for something else that will EFFECTIVELY oppose the left. And one thing we may do is put some taxes on the same corporate rino elite since of course they are a major reason why conservatism does not work for conservatives. They and their urban cosmopolitan liberal know it alls did everything the can to wreck this country so they can just pay the price. That sounds fair to me, doesn’t it!

Dear Sen. Sasse,

In your making an electronic posting upon an electronic billboard, of such an important decision, you do your constituents a disservice.

I’m sure they voted for you, because of your intestinal fortitude.

However, posting to an electronic billboard, that a percentage of your constituents might not have the desire to visit, to read your great words, displays that your fortitude is tucked between your legs in a canine’s fashion.

Trump needs to do a better job of not saying stupid stuff.

I know it may be emotionally gratifying for some Trump supporters to give the "screw you, we don't need your vote" response to people, and to applaud Trump when he says stupid stuff like what he said about libel laws.

But if they really want Trump to win, then they should want him to get as many votes as possible in the general election. At some point, rather than deliberately alienating people who are leaning against the guy, they might want to think about how to convince them otherwise. That means Trump not saying as much dumb stuff, and his supporters working to alienate people less, and convince them more.

Honest to God, I'm waffling on supporting the guy myself, and this "screw all you people" attitude is just making me and others even more concerned about exactly what it is we'd be electing.

Bottom line is that the reflexive attacks on anyone who criticizes Trump is just sheer laziness. People don't want to put in the work/patience to try to convince persuadable voters to support their guy. But if he doesn't win...those same Trump supporters all will be angry as hell about how they were "abandoned" by other Republicans/conservatives.

This is exactly why Trump is winning. The Elitest GOP mindset that thinks it can dictate it’s emotion based opinions to the vast mass of GOP voters.

PRINCIPLED Position would be

I do not agree with my party’s choice but as a member in good standing I have lost this debate and need to abide by the will of the party.

Or

I strongly disagree with my party’s choice so I will resign my senate seat and my GOP membership and run for the job as an Independent.

It is an ego driver temperament to say “I don’t like who the party chooses so I am going to accept all the perks of being IN the party while actively working to sabotage the will of the vast majority of the party’s voters.”

That is pompous self serving betrayal and the voters have every right to hold the Senator accountable.
