If Cruz drops out, then his choice is either to:
1) Endorse Trump
2) Endorse Rubio
3) Refuse to endorse at all.
Technically, he could endorse both Trump and Rubio. Not likely or probable, but it’s a choice that makes use of the word “either” imprecise and arguably misleading. Just sayin’
Cruz said he would endorse Rubio!
He needs a job it seems. Feel sorry for him and disappointed. He will go where the optimal career path takes him.
I used to think Donald would extend a hand in truce and pick him up as VP, but no more. I’ve come around to the view that Ted may have burned one bridge too many.
He’ll land on his feet but I think his political career has been significantly damaged and may be over.
His main errors:
1. Running the Reagan playbook of 1984 rather than the one of 1980.
2. Consenting or being forced to consent to hire awful persons to run his national campaign.
3. Breaking his vow not to attack his fellow republicans (Reagan’s 11th Commandment).
As a result, he’s out of sync with the electorate, he’s now painted as dirty brought about by decisions of his campaign director and he has lost his likeability and sympathy factors. I was one of his strongest supporters and defenders. I still believe most of the attacks against him are false, but it doesn’t matter when failure to win is imminent.
Now we just need to pray that Donald’s security and secret service detail keep him safe because this is the nastiest election season I have witnessed in my adult lifetime and things look to get worse, much worse.
The Sessions' endorsement of Trump was the death knell for Cruz. He knows it.
