People not knowing what the Constitution is is exactly why we should nominate a Constitutionalist who will increase awareness and understanding of what our country is supposed to be. If we don’t remind people what the Constitution, we’ll keep sliding down further and further into the kind of authoritarian government we’ve been seeing.

I have always liked Mark Levin. I got my tagline as a result of him.

He’s no traitor and you are the soulless one for having your mind even go to the idea of this man possibly being executed for “treason.” You’re exhibiting a kind of banana republic, Nazi-esque fanaticism with the demagoguery of Trump that seems to have you almost supporting the idea of going door-to-door executing people who don’t support him.

You’re actually confirming all of the worst paranoia about Trump and what his “revolution” might mean for the country. If this is the kind of hate and cult-like fervor that Trump induces in the country, then Ben Sasse might be more right than he even knows in arguing that no one of good conscience should support his candidacy.

Yes when he was a businessman and NOT a politician.

You are NUTS if you think your man is not on the “take”.

If these aholes had fought half this hard against Obama's agenda, there would be no Trump in the race.
As it is, they only pander for the vote, saying what the people want to hear.

Well the people are tired of the do-nothing GOPe and want a man of action.

You must live in a gated community... The GOP and Obama are the banana republic.

I guess you missed all the Republicans who fought the good fight, because you are supporting the man who backed the Democratic Party Leadership (and who has proclaimed on the stump) that he will make deals with Pelosi and Reed and Schumer - which is true because he has said that he likes them, that he has worked with them and that he has financially backed them - as a matter of fact, he flat out stated that he lines up better with Democrats.

It just shows me that the circus was in town.

My employer won’t hire illegals. After Trump lets back in all the “good” illegals with his planned amnesty, they’ll be fair game for hiring. After that, I’ll probably lose my job and won’t be able to afford to live in a gated community if I wanted to.

For heaven’s sakes...Sasse said he’d vote for hillary instead of Trump! Isn’t that a bridge too far?

Where? I read the whole thing and he said he’d support a third party conservative candidate.

"Given what we know about him today, here's where I'm at: If Donald Trump becomes the Republican nominee, my expectation is that I will look for some third candidate - a conservative option, a Constitutionalist. "

That’s because you are not thinking.

The picture tells you Trump has A LOT of support.

Political Campaign Experts say less than 1% of a candidate’s supporters actually show up to a political rally. Therefore, if you want to know who the voters support, then just look at a Candidates crowd. Not at just one rally but all the rallies combined.

Thus, in a free society whoever has the biggest numbers at a rally is the candidate that has the most support. Provided it’s a fair and free election vs. a rigged and fixed election.

I’d admire Sasse’s spine in opposing this unpredictable non-conservative and likewise oppose his nomination but vote splitting in November means sure victory for the democrats (unless fantasies of Trump’s extreme attractiveness to dem voters are true, which I doubt).

I would 1000% oppose Trump if he went rouge independent because he was “robbed” in brokered convention even if the nominee was a chump like Romney and I have to likewise oppose running an independent conservative (or “conservative”, Perry has been suggested) against him if he’s the nominee. I wish we didn’t have a system that allowed some jerk a majority of party voters would reject to win with a plurality but we do, as we learned 4 years ago. The nominee is the nominee.

This discordant tune was played in 1912, it was a brown note for America and the fault lied with the rouge independent TR. Hillary (or Biden, Sanders whatever but it’s gonna be Hillary) must be kept out or we are 100% cooked.

Sort of rude isn’t it to not ping CW if you’re going to write about her in a post?

Don’t say it!

I did not mean to write “rouge” though that may apply as well as “rogue” does, certainly in the case of TR’s 1912 platform. ;d
