Why I'll Gladly Vote for Trump in November, if it Comes to It
The Briefing Room ^ | Feb. 28, 2016 | "Bill Cipher"

I am no BFF of Trump's and I most sincerely hope he loses the nomination. But if he does not, as it appears he will not, then I most sincerely hope he wins the general election, and I will do my part to try and make it happen.

No, that's not an about-face, it stems from two simple facts:

Traderrob6; Yorlik803; Hoodat; and italianquaker, all have said in this thread that they will not vote for Trump in the general election if he is the Republican nominee. They don’t care if our children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren live in a world where a liberal supreme court will fundamentally change the United States into some type of hell hole. They don’t care that the Democrats will add an additional 40 to 50 million liberal voters to the country ensuring that the Republicans will become an permanent minority.

Just think. Down the road when we all look back at the President who turned the tide against the establishment, the anti-American globalists, and political correctness, you’ll be able to tell you kids and your grandkids that you did everything you could to prevent it.

The Second Amendment.

Will you people THINK before you post? I had to take down ANOTHER poster earlier who was blowing gas about Trump and Buffett.

I do care about all of those things. And because I care, I will not be voting for Donald Trump. He does not respect the Constitution, and he supports touchback amnesty. Perhaps you should be asking yourself why you are voting for him?

This clown calls Trump stupid.

Trump runs a multi-billion dollar company, has his own fleet of aircraft, is one of the premier builders in the nation and is on the virge of becoming President.

If Trump is a stupid man, this guy must be a “genius”.

Both Mitt Romney and Donald Trump support Amendment II. Both have supported assault weapons bans in the past. So again, how is Trump to the right of Romney here?

I am voting for Trump because I believe he will try to do what he says unlike Cruz who just a month ago was saying he would not support “jackboot thugs” arresting illegal aliens.

I am voting for Trump because I believe he will try to do what he says . . .

That includes allowing illegals to come right back into the country, government-paid health care, and continued taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood. And you're OK with all that? After all, Trump said he'd do it.

I will vote trump just to piss those four off, and listen to the sweet sound of gnashings and rendings.

Thanks a lot.

There is another aspect of a Trump presidency that gets scant attention.

As a populist President elected by Pubs, Rats, & Indies while being rejected by the elites of both parties, Trump will be totally beholding to the people.

All first term presidents begin immediately to campaign for a second term. Trump will be at the mercy of those who elected him. If Trump fails to deal effectively with illegal immigration, if he fails to at least start a wall, he will lose his base of support & his second term. If he reneges on his other promises or turns hard Left, he will be the earliest lame duck president in history. His voters will abandon him.

Trump cannot turn to the elites for support, they despise him. His only path to reelection is to satisfy his base of support. And being a one term president would be an embarrassment Trump could not accept.

Trump doesn’t need Congress’s permission to secure the border and deport illegals. The laws are already on the books. He merely has to enforce existing laws, something no president has done in decades. That alone might secure his reelection.

I seriously doubt Trump will do anything to jeopardize his reelection, such as universal health care or some of his other odd ideas. His voters expect common sense solutions, not 10,000 page boondoggles.

All he really needs to do is make significant headway on illegal immigration, convince America it is great again, go after government waste, fraud, & abuse (EPA, IRS, ...), & give our enemies reason to fear us again. Trump doesn’t need the elites or Congress to do any of that.

As for health care, Trump need only tell Congress that they screwed it up & they can fix it to the satisfaction of himself & the people.

And if the people demand circuses as the Romans did, then Trump can indict Clinton & go after the corrupt Obama administration. It looks like Christie might be Trump’s AG. Christie seems like a man who would love to eat Hillary’s liver with fava beans for a snack. There is enough entertainment value here that Trump could run naked through the Senate & no one would notice, their eyes glued to the executions of the Clintons & the Obamas. Further, the rife corruption & cronyism in WDC is fertile ground for sowing indictments, giving Trump power & influence not available to his adversaries.

Trump will not have an easy presidency. He will only have the bully pulpit & the support of his voters. If he loses his voters, no one will listen to his bully pulpit. The people want their borders secure, their good jobs back, & to be proud of their country again. Trump can either begin to provide those things or be another Carter Or Bush 41, something Trump’s ego wouldn’t allow.

Well in a couple of weeks you won’t have much to contribute to FR. You can sit it out and hope for Hillary. :-)

you said-
“I’ve never seen such a mindless herd of zombies.”

Obviously you forgot about 2008 and
“Oh Bah Ma!”

That said, I agree with you.
I despise Trump as well.

I am totally impressed.

You remember 2008.

Wow.

I’m having a problem with yesterday.

Yeah, I lose control over my fingers sometimes but usually when I’ve been called an effing loser or something sweet like that.
