I’ve heard sports teams are doing something similar.

I don’t know about specific teams, but, have heard that some baseball teams were dropping prices for midweek games, and/or games against lesser opponents, while instituting “surge” pricing when a major draw such as the Yankees come to town.

So that means they’ll be paying *me* to attend Vikings games?

Happens in all sports. I know of a specific example where an NBA home team was playing the Golden State Warriors earlier this year. Everyone wanted to see Steph Curry. Ticket prices went through the roof; and Steph sat out with an injury. You pay your money and take your chances.
