It seems like there is a curse for most Pubbie candidates who win the Iowa caucuses. They lose going forward toward the nomination.
Romney almost got it, but thankfully, Santorum passed him by something like 6 votes in the final count, and Romney did get the nomination -- when he blew in the general. :)
Cruz won Iowa and hasn't come close to anything since. Even if he does win Texas, he has no path to the nomination -- without some major 'macaca moment' for the front-runner.
