The news that Donald Trump turned down 94 percent of American job applicants to his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Fla., in favor of foreign workers brought in under the H-2B visa program should come as a surprise to absolutely no one.... I don’t think any of Trump’s companies are public. Hence, there are no stockholders.
That’s the underlying problem - his financial position is held closely under wraps. All that you hear (sourced to him) is that he is very wealthy. Story is he is angry with Steve Forbes because Trump is not on the Forbe’s List of the most wealthy people. Trump tried to “negotiate” himself onto the list, but Forbe’s had/has too much integrity.
