I am so sick of the misuse of the word gender. As my husband’s Mormon English teacher used to say “Nouns have gender, people have SEX”
I’ve decided that since Bruce Jenner doesn’t want to be Bruce Jenner that I’m going to be Bruce Jenner from now on.
By the way, there’s some freak in a dress who needs to give me back my medals!
The winner of a special election for St Rep in my district ran on only one position.
Im queer. Dont confuse me with gay. My predecessor is gay.
Queer is a couple steps up the pecking order from gay, apparently. She also happens to appear quite sexy to a neanderthal who isnt up on the distinctions.
Another Liberal/Progressive idea.
What could go wrong?
It looked so good on paper.
I’ll admit here on FreeRepublic for the first time ever that I self-identify as a pencil.
I’m sharp!
Yeah but sex is biologically binary, and then you can’t make reality a subjective whim of your own.
Which of course, just cannot be allowed.
“But what can we do about it? My solution is simple: stop using the transgender activists’ terms. They’re far too subjective and malleable to mean anything at all in a legal sense. I don’t care at all what “gender” you “identify” as. I care about your sex. Sex is meaningful because it is an inalterable reality written into our DNA. “
Exactly right! That paragraph needs to be repeated until people get it.
Not in class, I hope.
To me, gender is the physical maleness or femaleness of a person. Sex is an activity. I suspect that the dislike some people have for the use of the word "gender" to mean a physical attribute is regional. It's similar to the annoyance I feel when some Marylander uses the word "tag" to mean "license plate", which is what we called it in CA, where I grew up.
In any case, a person cannot change gender. Either he is biologically male, or she is biologically female--either way, the gender is an immutable fact, not subject to personal decisions.
So now, apparently, any a-hole can "be" a veteran because "they feel like" a veteran.
//To me, gender is the physical maleness or femaleness of a person. Sex is an activity//
Which is what the libs want you to think. However, gramatically it is incorrect.
The Charlotte NC city council passed a law Monday allowing transgender people to choose public bathrooms that correspond to their gender identity.
Gov. McCrory said the state legislature will pass a law overturning it and he’ll sign it.
I don’t doubt it, inasmuch as the legislature and governor passed a law outlawing sanctuary city policies.
Reaganaut is correct. Gender only refers to words and grammar. The proper term for maleness and femaleness of humans is “sex” not “gender”.
Well you may care when some pervert barges into the restroom that your wife or daughter is using.
As a natural born male I often feel like a lesbian and maybe should have access to the ladies room...but I’m too embarrassed and shy to follow through. Can I get a grant or some welfare?

Caitlyn Jenner Conquers Her Fear of Swimsuits: See Her White-Hot Style
UsWeekly ^ | August 10, 2015 | Rachel Torgerson - Celebrity Style
White-hot! After admitting her insecurities about wearing a bathing suit, Caitlyn Jenner conquered her fear and rocked a sexy one-piece on the Aug. 9 episode of her E! reality series, I Am Cait.
For her swimsuit debut, Jenner opted for a white, one-shouldered monokini with intricate ties at the back. The former Olympian, 65, kept her hair in her blown-out, straight style and topped off the entire beachy look with a lace sarong and golden hoop earrings.
Rocking a swimsuit was a tall order for Jenner, who had only recently explained that swimwear makes her feel too "exposed." "Putting on a bathing suit represents a lot to me," she said in the most recent episode. "I'm about as nervous as can possibly be right now."
Looks like John Goodman in a Coen brothers film.
Get with the newspeak. Trangrammerism is transexing the gender of grammer.....
