I put out a quick video of a guitar lesson that I wanted to share with my son. It now has almost 400,000 hits. It was not meant for public consumption. :-)

It was a first take and has a few obvious mistakes. I’m kind of embarrassed by it, but oh well. Nobody knows who I am.

Wow that’s a lot, I know you can make money out of those Youtube videos but I forget how they pay. Some people on there make millions if you can believe it, but they regularly get millions of hits. Like this clown, he plays video games and regularly gets 10 million hits a video and I believe he earns around $8 million a year.

But see the thing with Youtube is a guy like that is bringing viewers to THEIR website, they are profiting off of his fanbase splitting ad revenue with him when if he made his own website he would get 100% of the ad revenue. Youtube does not promote videos so what he is basically doing is splitting ad revenue with a website that basically just provides data storage.

It looks like National Flower is a 6 person band based out of Portland, Oregon - and that they all have separate musical interests they pursue from time to time. I'm not on Facebook, so I only caught the gist of it. Interesting music, though. But those Youtube videos on their channel are beyond boring.

Yep.... I play guitar, bass, mandolin, banjo, keyboards, drums, harmonica..... but I can’t play two melodies on the acoustic guitar like he does. I mean a little bit in short bursts.... but he is amazing. My mind can’t do that...

I can do day tripper a little - so so.... but the lady Madonna one is still way a stretch... I can sit down behind a drum and play kick with right foot, high hat with tambourine on it with left foot and play guitar and harmonica with it all day.... all same time. But I struggle to make the right hand play two melodies at once...

Anyway... yeah he is THE GUY.

The only way to learn it is to use a metronome. Without it I seem to skip an eighth note in every measure. I don’t know why, but there is one quarter note that I always cut in half. With the metronome I can play it at about half speed. It took me one night to learn the song that is the subject of this thread. It was a long night.
