Thought I give this a try. I like the weekly news of the weird.

I worked in youth corrections and we spent $50,000 a year per inmate. I always thought we should pay them 36,000 to not commit crimes and close the place down. Think of all the money we'd save.

In the Richmond case, If we enforced 3 strikes, most of them would have been in prison and the crimes would have gone down anyway.

Rewarding bad behavior can’t go wrong. Can it?

It makes sense to pay people to stay out of trouble.

Conservatives who complain its free-loading, forget we’re already paying criminals to stay away from society. Its called prison.

And that’s probably cheaper than having them steal. Society and future victims come out far ahead by all the crimes not committed.

We save on cops, prosecutors, courts and prison correctional staffs, all of which cost us big sums of money.

Scarce prison space should be reserved for the truly dangerous and incorrigible.

During a meeting with law enforcement, Boggan was stunned to learn that city officials believed 70 percent of the 45 homicides and 200-plus firearm assaults in 2009 were committed by just 17 people.

Not exactly mind bending.

Okay, instead of making golfers play it where it lies, how about we all get a free drop and one stroke’s credit on any hole that your ball ends up in a hazard or out of bounds?

Watch them unionize, and get the right to strike.

Give them a penny a month and refrain from shooting them in the back of the head - that should be payment enough....
