To: DJ Frisat

I still have the update sitting in the Update file.

I don’t want Win10 .. because I don’t need it. I just use my laptop to write stuff .. and have email connection with my family. And, I like using IE for mail.

Several people have suggested Linux, but I don’t have a clue how to install it. My computer guru is out of town for about 3 mos, so if Win10 downloads .. I’ll have a mess on my hands, and perhaps a lost manuscript.

A little concerned.

If you want to forestall the forced Windows 10 update, do a search for GWX Control Panel. It’s safe and effective - read the reviews. Free and a quick install. Microsoft offers a more difficult solution, involving editing the registry. For now, GWX Control Panel will take care of you...

Have you considered using a Kiosk version of Linux for your basic needs?

Just a thought...
