It's violent and it's laden with expletives but movie-going audiences around the globe love it. Deadpool, starring Ryan Reynolds as the physically and mentally scarred Marvel Comics antihero, demolished the opposition for a second weekend running in North America. And worldwide, the film looks certain to eclipse The Matrix Reloaded and grab the title of highest-grossing R-rated movie in history, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

If you love graphic and comical violence and sex, this is the feel-good movie of the year! I left the theater with a huge smirk on my face. I love how Reynolds embraced the Deadpool costume instead of constantly removing it so his face can be seen like so many other superhero movies (Spidey, Cap, Ironman all have a strange need to show their faces to everyone.)

Looking at the script and other sources I can point out a few examples.

Beyond that, I remember Deadpool's comment about "liking it hot and salty" (about the Pizza) and how he would give the Pizza boy his "Hard Spot". He also went into the bar and asked the male bartender for a "blow job".

There is a scene where he is about to get a "strapon" used on him by his girlfriend. There is also a reference to "fisting" regarding Ajax.

And numerous lisps, inflections, and generally pansy acting and sounding behavior.

On second thought, never mind. This is exactly what I mean regarding "the normalization of homosexuality."

a) Comparing the taste of Deadpool’s nethers to Rosie O’Donnel’s is hardly a ringing endorsement of either

b) A reference to swallowing has nothing to do with homosexuality, merely sexual

c) Neither is mastrubation a homosexual act.

d) Not sure about this reference as I don’t remember it in the movie; sounds like Deadpool has low self esteem about his body more than anything else

e) This is another well used turn-of-phrase (ie: “whose ____ do I have to suck to get a drink around here?!”)

g) In case you didn’t know, Vanessa is a woman, so nothing homosexual going on there. Sodomy, yes, homosexuality, no.

I hardly see this as advocacy for homosexuality; in fact I imagine gay groups are generally not happy with all the jokes at their expense.
