Shortly after Super Bowl 50 ended with a humiliating defeat for the heavily-favored Carolina Panthers, led by quarterback Cam Newton, Newton and Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning shook hands on the field and exchanged greetings and comments, with Manning (who has suffered his own humiliating losses in previous Super Bowls) offering encouragement, then each went his own way. Unfortunately for Newton, he later would have an infamous press conference in which he showed up wearing a "hoodie," mumbled some answers to questions, and then would walk out after three minutes, leaving the press astonished.
Not surprisingly, the sports media jumped on this - as they would with any other quarterback who had walked out of a similar situation - as Newton, this year's NFL Most Valuable Player for the regular season, had to eat the same humble pie that Manning ate after the Seattle Seahawks blew out the Broncos 43-8 in Super Bowl XLVII. (Manning did not leave his post-game press conferences after his Super Bowl losses, although one figures he would rather not have shown up at all.) While much of the press lambasted Newton for his less-than--tellar post-game performance, Peyton Manning's father, Archie, himself a legendary quarterback in college and in the pros, defended Newton, saying he fully understood how Newton felt after such a defeat.

He's white.
He's rich.
He's successful.
He spoiled their black panther party.
Colorado Ping ( Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
Progressives have diseased minds so they always do irrational things.
maybe because he sexually harassed and ruined a good woman’s career...
Probably took HGH as well.
I like to remember the University of Alabama football program buying a Memphis high school kid like one might buy a slave.
I am a Bronco fan, but I didn’t see Cam Newton’s behavior as being completely out of line. He is a talented and young, and it is easy for him to think he is great when everything quickly goes his way early in his career. Peyton’s personality has never been as much of a show boater like Cam, but in his long career he has had plenty of times when he has been beaten and humiliated and had to take it. Those incidents have an effect on people, and now its Cam’s turn. Will it change him? I hope so, and for the better. He still has a long career ahead and hopfully he can learn humility. The press will love the show boating, but that really isn’t what fans want. They just want him to play well and win games.
Sadly, I think Cam’s behavior is the new normal.
Sounds like you have inside info... please share.
Von Miller shows maturity as the new face of the Broncos.
Maybe Cam will be able to look back someday and say this super bowl was the best thing for him.
White, Southern, Christian, Straight, Excellence
That was her claim and it involved a lot more people than just Manning. Which reinforces the argument that women do not belong in male athletic locker rooms........
Barack Obama will not be mocked.
Hi everybody, long-time Broncos season ticker holder (but recently gave them up) here. I moved to the mountains so no more season tickets. It was never the same with the new stadium anyway.
The media has always hated Peyton Manning because he’s not from a big coastal market, he’s a bo-hunk Southern boy with a drawl. At least Elway went to Stanford for crying out loud.
Right now Peyton’s hated because he looks so good next to Cam Newton, the media darling (Remember, Rush is still right, the media is dying to have a successful black QB to glorify).
Manning and the Broncos ruined the huge media adoration frenzy that would have taken place if the Panthers had won.
Instead the media got a triple whammy: (1) Panthers lost, (2) Newton looked bad on the field and (3) he looked even worse at the press gaggle.
Southern white guy up, hoodie brother down. Bad news.
wrt. Peyton saying he fully understood how Newton felt after such a defeat.
To paraphrase....
