The divide between Freeper's in the Trump vs. Cruz battle is more heated than I recall any other divide of Freerepublic. Just about every thread immediately devolves to a nasty fight that carries from one thread to another.
I think we need to be careful with each other because both camps need each other after the primary. Can we just agree to disagree and move on? We have more in common with each other than not.
“Politics is blood sport, if anyone regardless of who they back are going to get their panties in a bunch because folks involved in the game are playing what they feel are dirty pool, they really don’t get politics at all.”
I don’t like cheating. I don’t like lying. I don’t care to hear excuses for it as “politics as usual,” because it still sucks.
Do you think the Carson supporters have “their panties in a bunch” because of the fake report in Iowa that he had dropped out? Or do they “don’t get politics at all,” either? And what’s that you said about name calling, again?
I wonder if you get paid more for an earlier sign up date? ;-)
Seniority pay.
The old timers are often heard saying this is nothing compared to what has happened in the past in SC. Maybe. One thing is certain, the public has developed a very low tolerance for the 'old school' dishonestly camp Cruz continues to deploy. If that changes things to where real issues are debated rather than the constant lie/denial exchanges, it's a good thing.
I see what you did there ...
No divorce. I’ll sleep with the one that’s left.
I agree, there is a small cabal of nasty postérs spamming every political thread with slander talking points. They do not seem to bother reading more than the headers, never the article contents. After being proven to be posting false aligationd in a thread they move on and repost the same slime again.
All of them are names I do not recall posting before this election, and I have been posting here for 15 years.
They are useful as soap boxes, but their tactic of rudeness gets wearying, I don’t know how they live with themselves.
Their own awesomeness blinds them to their rudeness...
Be nice if that happens. Had one attack me a day or two ago, and I never stated a preference for anyone, but got attacked anyway.
Mostly it isn't, you know.
Half the time (night) it's black.
Dawn and dusk, it's red, orange and pink.
During broad daylight it's often white or grey with clouds, overcast and chemtrails...
Yeah. I got attacked by an “expert” as a Trumpbot when I questioned Canadian born, Canadian citizen (1973-2014), Cuban fathered Rafael Edward Cruz’s Constitutional eligibility, as I don’t believe foreign birth and foreign parentage satisfies the requirements as a Natural Born Citizen as understood by the Founding Fathers.
Sorry that happened but I bet you can take it. Thanks for your service.
My take, hopefully a future state of reality:
Cruz wins and we post good articles about Trump helping vets and hiring a lot of people.
Or
Trump wins and we post good articles about Cruz defending our Constitutional liberties.
Always vigilant, we FReepers will monitor their actions in the future and call them to the carpet post-election, should they not uphold our conservative values.
We will survive and get along again.
That many FReepers are not supporting the only consistent Constitutional Conservative in this primary is very upsetting.
In past elections this site was filled with complaints about being stuck with a RINO moderate (McCain, Romney).
But this time we have FReepers actively pushing a moderate, at best, supposedly former FOB ('Friend of Bill' Clinton), and attacking anyone who tries to point out that Trump is NOT a conservative and is NOT consistent about anything.
Just bizarre to see this on a supposedly Conservative site.
well said!
Every election has this type of characteristic. Nothing new. FR will survive.
This place has changed SO much since The Great FR Purge of 2007, and IMO, not for the better.
I still love FR, and have met wonderful, lifelong FRiends here, both online and in 'real life'. But I'm sad that many of the FRiends I've made here over the years (since 2000) either were banned or have left FR for good, or are still members and just don't post here anymore.
