Investor's Business Daily ^ | 2/19/2016 | Staff

I won't name him, but one Freeper said it best yesterday....

" I was all gung-ho for Trump until I woke up one morning and realized that almost all of his positions were left of Mittens."

Nice logic.

so his crony capital instincts...you’re chalking up to 100% capitalism? He’s never met a winner or loser he wasn’t happy for government to pick.

That’s NOT capitalism. Crony capitalism is the opposite of capitalism..it’s a perverted capitalism. Its like anti or non or faux capitalism.

Conservatives did not blow up the national debt.

These Republicans were NOT conservative who were in charge. The problem is that there were not enough conservatives to stop them.

and now your brilliant logic says lets elect someone even left of those non conservatives....that’ll show em.

Brilliant. Enjoy your trump care mandate

that’s hardly an endorsement.....and the same could be said of Romney - I guess you were a big Romney supporter.

IOW...you said Trump is like Jeb so vote for Jeb.

if he’s not a uniparty member, then why is he blabbing on ABC to liberal Georgie Steph about “doing deals” with Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid?????

Oh, wait, I know....he’s 100% Democrat. That explains it.

“When there is a qualifier before “conservative,” such as “compassionate” or “common sense,” the person isn’t a conservative.”

What about “consistent”?

Reagan was never like Trump - and he was not running for President 15 minutes after adopting some conservative positions.

No Obama was so much better than Romney, so I’m glad your man got elected 4 years ago. This time you can have your man Hillary or Bernie. Keep chasing rainbows.

The term "common sense conservative" today equates to the term "compassionate conservative" of yesteryear. And we've already seen how well that has worked out for us. Both terms mean "closet liberal".

You mean like how Reagan did deals with the Democrat-run House in the 80s?

If Cruz is president, and he doesn’t have a 60 vote majority in the Senate, then he is sure as hell going to be “doing deals” to get his agenda passed.

If he faces a Democrat majority, you will have no choice.

Trump may not be 100% Conservative, but at least he’s 50% Conservative with the potential of being better. He’s much better than all the other candidates who many consider as Conservative but already betrayed us while in office

——The problem is that there were not enough conservatives to stop them.——

This is an alien concept on Free Republic. The fact it requires raw political power to prevail is lost in self righteousness.

The lesson being learned is that a charismatic leader trumps conservative /constitutionalist zealotry and status quo

It will be very interesting to watch how a president Trump and a Speaker Ryan work together to accomplish all the disparate goals

So the draft board found him to not be physically fit? Ok.

But in the decades since he was young, he got into shape, avoided drinking, smoking, likely unhealthy foods, and is now, for his age, extremely healthy?

What is the conspiracy theory you are pushing? That deferments = draft dodger? Then I guess that means Dick Cheney was one as well, and you might as well go with the libs that said that George W.’s stint in the Nat. Guard was dodging too.

Hell Cruz admitted to smoking pot as a kid, and never served one minute in the military....but vote for Cruz, right?

Imho all the other “Conservative” candidates should be ashamed of themselves. Trump sell a better Conservative message than they do in the last 8 months. I know ppl doubt Trump is a Conservative, but he does do better job at selling Conservative than the others

You see “common sense” thrown around a lot. It falls into the category of what psyops calls “Glittering Generalities” and it doesn’t really mean a damned thing. It just makes a nice, soothing sound when you say it.

A 100 % capitalist doesn’t support freezing entitlements into today’s socialist maze, doesn’t want increased tariffs, the cause of the Great Depression, doesn’t want government controlled health care prices, or government taking of private property. Those are the positions of National Socialists.
