A Minnesota photographer captured a dramatic show on Lake Superior last week as massive sheets of ice met the shoreline and shattered.
Dawn M. LaPointe shared the hypnotic video on Feb. 13 2016, on the Radiant Spirit Gallery Facebook page.
In her post, LaPointe says she filmed the shattering ice near Duluth, Minn., for two hours in frigid conditions, ranging from minus-8 degrees to 3 degrees. That's minus-20 degrees to minus-8 degrees with windchill.

It was -10 here outside of Boston a few nights ago.

Hit 79* here at DFW today and was in mid-80*s West of Fort Worth. Local TV weather showed the lowest temp in DFW this Winter has been 27* and that we’ve only had 16 days below freezing. ...I’m loving it!

My daughter lives in Waikiki and was in NYC during your cold snap this week. She sent me a pic of her in Manhattan all bundle up in a -1 F early morning. All you can see are her eyes. She said she heard lots of New Yorkers on the street complaining about it.
“Windchill” is irrelevant when talking about inanimate things, such as lakes and ice sheets.
