Author Nelle Harper Lee, who won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 1961 for her book, "To Kill a Mockingbird," passed away in her sleep Friday morning at the age of 89, her family has confirmed.
"This is a sad day for our family. America and the world knew Harper Lee as one of the last century's most beloved authors," Hank Conner, Lee's nephew and a spokesman for the family, said in a statement Friday morning.
"We knew her as Nelle Harper Lee, a loving member of our family, a devoted friend to the many good people who touched her life, and a generous soul in our community and our state. We will miss her dearly."

This was already posted. Don’t you ever search news articles first?
Yes I did SEARCH and it came up that this title was not found!!!
Was it the black guy’s fault?
Another opportunity for leftists to promote racism.
“America and the world knew Harper Lee as one of the last century’s most beloved authors,”
Hmm...Strange, considering she only wrote one book and a couple articles.
2 books.
You are forgetting the one that was written a while back but just published ... Go Set a Watchman I think it is entitled.
It did not come up when I searched I have no idea why.
. It doesn't feel nice to be attacked by something so mundane. A simple note without the venom would have been enough And the search feature is definitely not 100%.
So? Would you rather be remembered for doing something great once or something mediocre a dozen times.
Never having lived in the South (except during Army service) and having been born long after the Depression was over I can't speak of such events from personal experience. However, things of this sort either *did*,or did *not*,occur. If they did this can be considered an "historical novel".If they didn't it's pure fiction.
Either way it's my favorite film of all time. And let's not confuse what very probably *did* happen (occasionally,at least) seventy years with the phony, fraudulent victimization industry of today.
