Yeesh. That’s probably the best reason not to try flying a 60 mph Piper Cub in the mountains...

high winds in the foothills below Lake Tahoe the last couple of days

striped some metal sheeting off my barn.

Lost all the plastic on a hoop house.

Nice day today.

Prayers I don’t fall off my roof

Going backwards at 88 mph ground speed is not a good idea?

Naw, the passengers get kind of upset. Then there's that thing about no way to land...well, I mean, you can land, but it involves hitting a vertical surface...

Why not? It's the airborne version of moonwalking. Just make sure one wingtip is painted white.

Vertical kinks in the jet stream are very, very bad.

Been roaring. 285 from Kenosha Pass to Fairplay, closed off and on. Ground blizzards and it will tip semis over too.

Today it is 45 and sunny, no wind so far. Need to get out for a walk.

For you frequent and also you white knuckle flyers, that is one of the reasons for those toboggan rides just east and west of Denver. Buckle up!

Easily had 80+mph winds here in palmer divide. Lasted about 2 hours. Tall pines were bent 30 degrees over.
