If you, or someone you know has had their iPhone 6 or 6Plus screen replaced by a third party repair shop, or done it your self, with a third-party screen that had a third party home button already attached, Apple has some good news for you. Apple has released a new version of iOS 9.2.1 just for you which will PREVENT your iPhone from being BRICKED on the next update! It will also fix a BRICKED iPhone 6 or 6S that has been rendered useless. (note iPhones that have been updated via WIFI should not have encountered this Error 53 problem). Use iTunes to re-install iOS on your iPhone and everything should be OK for the next update. PLEASE NOTE! This update will NOT restore TouchID function to your home button because the requires an actual Apple TouchID part and Apple Service to Sync it to your Secure Enclave. You will need to see Apple Service for that. -- PING!

Ping for dayglored and Shadow Ace for their ping groups.

"This update will restore phones 'bricked' or disabled by Error 53..."

I thought "bricked" meant bricked. Apparently there are degrees of brickage.

This is just another reason I don’t do Apple.

Be smart folks.

Don’t rush to put the latest update on your phone, computer, tablet. Unless you are having a problem the update is known to solve, wait a while & be sure the new update isn’t full of serious bugs.

It is better to have an older, stable, WORKING operation system than one not thoroughly tested by the masses. Let the other guy do your beta testing for you.
